Starting in the Corners: Being Diligent Where We Are

Good Morning World! Start in the corners & be diligent right there. In biblical times as well as in many agricultural communities today, it was common practice for the poor to glean in the corners of the field so that they could gather food. Ruth started in the corners gleaning for food to care for her mother-in-law and herself. As she remained diligent to her job, she gained favor with Boaz, the owner of the field. As he watched her dedication and commitment to her mother-in-law, he began to show her favor in her work. When she revealed herself to be loyal to him, he blessed her with much provision. Ultimately, she became his wife and the mother of his son, who was the grandfather of King David. Its okay to start small & grow progressively. If we remain committed to the goal eventually it will be successful & lead to even greater accomplishment. When we are faithful to our goals, we can appreciate each success because we know the investment that was made to arrive at that level. Starting small? Just be diligent & faithful! Have a great day!

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21

And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. Luke 19:17

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. Job 8:7

Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it...when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city. And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her...she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law. Ruth 3:15-17

And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. Ruth 2:2

So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son. And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. Ruth 4:13-14

And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. Ruth 4:15-16

And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David. Ruth 4:17
