There dwells amongst us, as Christ's "Church" , a population of people who are often neglected, overlooked, pushed to the side, walked over, and dismissed as just being the much celebrated "man of God's" "GOOD THING", and some are covertly referred to as "arm pieces", to help "Pastor"/"Bishop" look good and to facilitate "his" vision or ministry. She is fondly (sometimes", and sometimes not) known as "FIRST LADY"! Many forget or never consider that she is a chosen vessel as well, and that she has a "voice", a hope and a "calling", and even more importantly that she has a relevance to and in God and His kingdom beyond being able to seriously wear a suit or "hang" a hat! Many people complain about this precious vessel because of her stand-offish or curt disposition, and some are often labeled "distant, unapproachable, controlling, and "contrary". Truth be told, sometimes they are absolutely correct, but has anyone ever taken the time to examine THEIR lives, and what it means to be THEM? These precious sisters have to deal with the "Pastor's alter ego" you'll probably never get to see, the one who disrespects her, condesceands, flirts with every sister at the church, and yet, neglects, takes for granted, and ignores her, or the one she has to watch grin real chummily with every sister at the church, but has no affection or kindness for her. She has to contend with all of his schizophrenic mood swings and his salty personality and continue to "grin and bear it", and cling to his arm with a "kool-aid" smile until the saints go marching home.. Then there are those who are the victims of domestic violence, mental, verbal, and sexual abuse and are secret "punching bags" of these very same tongue talking, fire-baptized , highly celebrated men of God, pretend that they don't know why several of the youngest "parishoners" have a striking resemblance to "Pastor", and still try to be the "virtous woman" he demands and expects, while enduring the criticism and persecution of the congregation, bcause her emotions, sometimes, spill over and she "reacts" to the chaos that is her life. There yet remains those who are mightily anointed but whose gifts are quenched, and bound up because all their mates will permit them to do is to address the "womenfolk" on "women's day", or perhaps have a word or two during anniversary time, and she had better sing his praises to the high heavens! These women suffer even more intensely, because they are in a perpetual state of "travailing to bring forth", and they face one spiritual "abortion" or "miscarriage" after another. They suffer from what I call "divine constipation", in that they have so much "Word" and purpose inside of them, but never a platform or outlet for it, and so it builds and swells until it becomes an "inflammation" or "toxic". Naturally, when one can not release all that one has eaten or ingested over a period of time, one's disposition certainly changes, and a "chain reaction" of nausea, vomiting, headaches, skin eruptions, gas and a number of other undesirable side effects evolve, potentially, ending in surgical intervention, because "what's in you SHALL come out, one way or the other! This is not to say that this is the situation with all pastoral couples, but it is far too common. Imagine having the man that you love being stretched and split seven diffferent ways from Sunday, tending to the emergencies of others, comforting others, counselling, til all hours others, on the phone for hours with others, not to mention the assorted funerals, weddings, conferences, conventions, summit meetimgs, board meetings, etc., and often, you're left behind with the kids, or for whatever reason. Imagine having to watch "bold" women flaunting themselves in YOUR Husband's face, stepping over you (without an utterance of "HI") to get in your husband's face, calling your home at all hours with piddling excuses, always needing a "word: with the man of God regarding issues better suited to discuss with you, anyway, and having your opinions or authority circumvented. Imagine having to swallow your pride to keep the peace because some (Jez-e-tell) is always complaining about you, lying on you, or falsely accusing you to your husband, and he either takes their side or makes excuses for them! These are the very real scenarioes that these chosen vessels live through every single day, so the next time "first lady" seems out of sorts, why not "bring her before the throne of grace" in earnest intercession and prayer. Better yet, if as much time was spent fervently interceding for her as was spent "travailing" for "Pastor", the devil would be on the run in their lives! FIRST LADIES, EVERYWHERE, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!!! You will not remain "INVISIBLE WOMEN, BECAUSE WE SEE YOU!!
