Ecclesiastes 2: 17,18} "So I hated my life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me; for all is vanity and is striving after the wind and a feeding on it. And I hated all my labor which I had toiled under the sun seeing that I must leave it to the man who will succeed me."

From reading these Scriptures we can tell that Solomon was a very busy man. A little too busy at times. How many of us can relate with that? If we're honest a lot of us can! Solomon tried and did everything there was to do, but in the final end he felt unfulfilled and bitter. How many of us hate life and feel unfulfilled and bitter? There is a root cause to this. We seem to try everything we can to bring a little joy into our lives and to stockpile money and things, but nothing seems to help. We become exhausted, disappointed and frustrated. And in the end many of us worry and fear more than we should. We have to ask ourselves at this point: Where is my trust and confidence in God?

So what is the secret to being fullfilled and truly joyous? What is the secret to really enjoying life the way God meant us to? It's in making sure that we obey God's will in everything we say and do. It's fully giving ourselves to what He has called us to do. Even though sometimes it may not be easy, but the key is to push through, persevere and obey anyway. If we are truly His children, His disciples, we need to discipline ourselves to follow His lead, His guidance and His will. How that pleases God's heart when we do this. He can't help but pour His favor and blessings on us. Doing God's will doesn't go without challenges in our lives, there are many times we will struggle. We may even get tired at times, but it's a good tired. It's a tired that tells us we did God's will and we did something for Him rather than ourselves. We did what we were supposed to do! Another point is to quit worrying about things and to have such a deep and intimate relationship with God that we know that we know He will take care of ALL our needs. Because He will! Cast all your cares on Him and quit worrying!!! Worry is a killer, just as fear and busyness is.

We all need to take a really serious inventory on what is taking up most of our time in our every day life. Let's face it, God needs to cut some activities out of our lives that are just plain wearing us down and making us sick! We need to cut activities out of our lives that keep us going at a frantic and wrong pace. Things that even the enemy puts in our paths to draw us away from our time we God. Each one of us knows what that is! So let's face it head on and refuse to give it any more time. Some of those things have become a god before our God. We also need to take time to relax and rest our bodies, to enjoy things God put in our lives to enjoy. As long as we put God first, there is nothing wrong with enjoying things. The problem is too many of us put so much enjoyment in things we forget about God!

We have to realize that we weren't created to go at a frantic pace, we can't do everything! When we decide to ask God to help us do what we're supposed to do, we will find that our lives are filled with a lot more peace and a lot more joy. Not to mention that the benefits are awesome! It's His grace that carries us through! Not by our might, nor by our power, but by His Spirit. Let's get an understanding of that! We will also see that we become more effective in the things we do. Let's face it, peace equals power...without it we will kill ourselves always going at a frantic pace and getting into high gear of doing all the time.

The simple rule of thumb to follow and that we should practice daily is: If you have peace about what you're doing, then keep doing it! If you don't have peace about it then stop it! Only you have that power. Hearing ourselves complaining, mumuring, grumbling and moaning about things on a regular basis should show us that we have changes to make. God does not want us to be like Solomon and hate our lives. Or be in a striving form either! He wants us to enjoy being in His will and to be at peace about what we do daily. His desire is for His will to be fulfilled in our lives. But we have to cooperate with that process. Let's stop our busyness and stop running the other way. Let's run to God and jump into His arms and trust Him with the whole ball of wax! Only He can do things over and above what we can even hope for, ask for or expect. It's a great way to begin the day by putting God first. Everything else just seems to go so much more smoothly and fall into place. Working on a relationship with God should be our first priority. God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could.
