What Is Our Character & Moral Disposition?

Hebrews 13:5} Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money (including greed, avarice, lust and carving for earthly possessions) and be satisfied with your present (circumstances and with what you have); for He (God) Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax My hold on you)! Assuredly not!

Let's face it, there's a lot of greed going on out there in the world. People in all walks of life from government to the smallest group are striving so much to get things. It's not money that is the root of all evil, it's the love of it. The same goes for material things. If most of us are honest we are never satisfied with what we have, we always want more. So what happens? Instead of trusting God for our needs we work our bodies and minds until we are so exhausted and frustrated that our joy, our peace, and our happiness has been stolen from us. This is not what God wants for us! He desires to bring us to a place where we will trust Him to supply ALL our needs no matter what is going on around us. Why? Because the days ahead are going to make many people's hearts fail....yes, even Christians!

Many of us panic now when small things happen. What will we do when the really bad things start to take place? We need to put our trust and confidence in the Source to the point where we will refuse to worry or get into panic or anxiety. God always takes care of His people in times of famine and recession. I didn't know I was going to go this way this morning but I guess the Holy Spirit just wanted to get that out. The other message He put on my heart is that He wants us to know He will never, ever leave us or forsake us. He won't let us down, not ever! He said it three times in today's Scripture so we need to know that means something! Now to bring up the point He has laid on my heart. Why do we forsake and let each other down? Why do we forsake and let God down?

We use the most foolish and fleshy excuses to disobey what God has told us to do. We forsake the assembling of ourselves together because someone hurt us, rejected us or just plain ignored us. Give me a break! What are we at church for? People or God? We each have an anointing and a gift on our lives and when we don't go to church we are robbing someone of that gift...not to mention we are being robbed of someone else's gift. Just make sure you are going to church in a place where the Holy Spirit is in control and His gifts are in operation. God isn't interested in our religious programs or anything else for that matter. He is interested in our obedience, our faithfulness and most of all the state of our hearts. If we aren't faithful, if we aren't obedient, if our hearts isn't completely given to the Lord, then don't be surprised when the blessings stop coming.

We are disobedient when it comes to spending time with Him in communication. We are not faithful when it comes to picking up His word and studying it to rightly divide. How many of us just sit in pews and never go out and put His word to practice by visiting the sick, visiting the widows, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and the list goes on? We're here for a purpose, not our own! His! It's time to wake up church. We are really going to need one another in the days to come. God says in His word today that He will always take care of our needs. Oh how we love to quote that one. But we forget about the stipulations in His Word. That is those things which we are to be obedient in doing.
When someone hurts us in any way we are quick to let our emotions take over and we go for the kill. We decide that it's ok to hurt others with our words, our attitudes and our actions. How Satan must love that when He sees the Body of Christ behaving in such ways. Don't be surprised when people are pulled away from us for a season. Notice I said a season, not forever. That is when we need to do a real heart search and see what is operating in us and stop being so quick to point the finger at others to take the focus off ourselves. Pride is a killer! Along with that comes a whole legion of negatives....control, manipulation, unforgiveness, unaccountability and the list goes on. God never forsakes us. Why do we forsake one another? When God pulls anyone away from someone because of things they are operating in, we need to realize that it's only for a season, not for life. Unless, of course, that person is in sin and refuses to be humbled. We don't forsake them, we pray for them! We continue to love them even though they may not see it as an act of love. We are to love and to forgive at all times, not just when the mood suits us.

So what is our moral character and disposition today? Are we shinning out the love and forgiveness of God? Or are we showing the emotions of Satan which is totally opposite of Christ? It's time to do a real heart search and to make sure we are in line with God's word, His will and His intentions. He is going to use many of us in magnificent ways in the days to come in spite of how dark and evil the world is getting. But we have to be ready, we have to be cleaned out and we have to cooperate with His Spirit. It cannot be business as usual. Who is your god today? This world or Jesus? What is your greatest goal? Stockpiling up money and things? Or setting your heart on fire for Jesus and the things of His Kingdom? These are questions we all need to look at. Present company included. Don't think you are safe just because you are born again. What will the Master find you doing when He returns? Have you been faithful in all things? Have you been walking in love? Let us come to a place of repentance and unite together with the body of Christ to become a powerful weapon against our enemy. We need each other and we will need each other more in the future. Don't believe me? Read Revelations. God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could......oh, one point of interest...for those of you who have a hard time understanding revelation I have a bunch of videos on my second site: www.sharinginkingdomlifearchives.piczo.com... that will help you better understand.
