Where do you find your "self-worth"?

Matthew 23:1-4

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you.

But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

That scripture is so known, now I know where my parents got that from. They always told me and my sisters “ Do as I say and not as I do “ Lol and I found myself telling my own children the same thing.

We all want to think that we're indispensable. That we have value. That the world NEEDS us.

In fact, when I was a kid I took that belief that the world needed me to the extreme. When I was playing high school football, I had a way of over doing it on the football field instead of working as a
team, but noooooo ! the players need me because I had that ego of been big headed that I can play all positions.

Well the coach sat me on the bench to cool off and think of the wrong I was doing. I was praising myself all the time instead of giving praises to others ( My team mates )that was selfish.

The same way is with God, when we accomplish something in life as a goal or hard situation, we tend to praise our self by saying “ I did that “ OK what about our heavenly father that blessed you to
have the talent or know how to make it and accomplish our goals? God was and still is with us through hard times when we go through trails and tribulations so we may successfully succeed in pursuing our goals. His mercy and his grace was there to guide us and make the way with perseverance to get by.

I know also we have fear of troubles we encounter in life. We try to do it on our own by walking by sight and not by faith with out calling on God to help us. We need him to guide us and show us the way and if he has favor on us , he will make the way through any trouble we might encounter. Do not try to be “ I “ again and mess up and cry “ Why you let this happen to me? “ well we did not call on him to save us, because the " I " came before him.

Our heavenly father love us to the fullest but he also will let you bump your head to learn about faith in him. LOL.

David sought the Lord for a solution for all of his troubles and found deliverance from all of his fears. The Psalmist wrote, "I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all of my fears."

(Psa 34:4) Allow the Lord to deliver you from you fears by seeking Him as the solution for your cares. Whenever we feel afraid we can trust Him to provide whatever we need. He makes us adequate
with His adequacy. He provides us with courage when we are feeling timid. He gives us the confidence to speak with articulate wisdom when we are unsure of what to say. He helps us face our obstacles with the assurance that we can do everything God asks us to do with the help of Christ who gives us the strength and power. (Phil. 4:13 - Living) Do not try to deliver yourself with your own power, intelligence and what ever you think will work. Call I-S-M-Y-S-A-V-I-O-R in heaven where there is no holding time at all.

So when we get through something that we thought it was all us, think twice and PRAISE God in heaven. He deserve all the praises and glory and honor that we have robbed him of.

May we all be bless by his word in the name of Jesus Amen. !
