I had a conversation with my daughter that had me thinking. My son and daughter are TRULY two

totally different characters : )

We were discussing how she will ask for something she needs in a totally different way than my son. Here are two examples:

(1st Example)

My son: “Mom, can you send me $15.00 for a fee I have for track?” and he will get $100.00

My daughter: “Mom, can you give me $300 to go shopping?” and she will get $100.00

(2nd Example)

My son: “Mom, I have a very important dinner to go to, can you send me a nice shirt a vest?” and he will get a few outfits.

My daughter: “Mom, I found a prom dress for $850.00” and she will get one for $200.00.

As we continued to discuss this, I told her that her brother ask for what he NEEDS and usually gets what he WANTS. She says...”Well I ask for what I WANT and get what I NEED.”

I then said, “Well your brother is seen to have a more humbling spirit, and you are seen as a brat!!!” Of course, she took this as a compliment : )

But on a more serious note, I really thought about this conversation “Spiritually”. Is this how we are many times??? Do we often ask the Lord for what we WANT and get what we NEED? Or at times...do we ask for what we NEED and get what we WANT?
