We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us. Romans 12:6

It is important for us to understand that each of us has different gifts, and it is important that we use well the gifts that God has given to us.

There are no superstars in God's work. In God's perfect plan for the world each of us has different talents, interests and abilities. Not all of us can be teachers. Who would feed or clothe us? Whom would we teach? Not all of us can be farmers. Who would bandage our wounds when we are hurt? Our world functions as smoothly as it does because God has gifted us in unique ways.

So it is with the work of the Kingdom. Each of us has a different spiritual gift. When we all use our gifts as God intends, then the world is blessed and our own lives are enriched.

All great leaders have recognized that to be effective, we must use the gifts God has given us. Grady Wilson for years handled evangelist Billy Graham's business affairs. We are told that some time back Wilson was faced with a decision about whether to move the Billy Graham organization to larger quarters. Unable to arrive at a decision, he called Dr. Graham for advice. Graham answered kindly but firmly. "I don't call you and ask you what I should preach," he said. "Don't call me about what you should do with buildings."

One of the secrets of Billy Graham's success has been in locating people with gifts and entrusting them to use those gifts. Each of us has different gifts. The key to successful living is not to grieve over the gifts we do not have, but to take those we do have and use them in honoring God.

Effective Praying

1 JOHN 5:

vs.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything accordingly to his will, he heareth us:

Principle 1: Confidence

Principle 2: Asking According to his will

Principle 3: He hear us

Applied Truth: God hears and listens to us when we pray or ask of his known will or perfect will, vs. permisable or good will, in confidence because we know its his will that we are asking according to faith of what we are believeing for.

What is Gods will for your life currently and what dominates your prayer time.

Blessings

…Seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14

What creates stress? Nowadays there are many situations that produce stress within us. We have stressful jobs, stressful relationships, stressful responsibilities. But listen to what one doctor says: “Since stress comes from the way in which you think, and not from the situation or people involved in your stress, you can begin to practice mind control.” Well, now, isn’t that news! Three thousand years after King David told us to “Seek peace and pursue it,” we discover that we can find the antidote for stress in our own minds.

The apostle Paul knew the importance of peace. He began many of his epistles with the words “Peace be unto you.” He ended many of them with “Grace, mercy and peace be yours.” Peace is the alpha and omega of the Christian’s well-being. As children of God, peace should be our normal state, and it will be the totality of our mental state in heaven. But right now, unfortunately, many people fail to find it.

How sad it is to see unbelievers struggle—in vain—to find peace by turning to Eastern religious practices such as transcendental meditation or yoga. But even many believers don’t seem to find the peace they need. Instead, we all experience anxiety, stress, and a lack of serenity to some degree.

We need to seek the peace of God and pursue it in the morning, at night, throughout each day, in the midst of stressful situations. We need to recover weekly so that we don’t build up an accumulation of ever-growing stress in our lives.

Do you feel stressed out, as if you can’t take any more? Then take time to lie “beside the still waters.” Take time out once a week for a restful, worshipful Sabbath. Above all, take time to really hear God’s words: “Be still and know that I am God.”

"Confidence is the belief that you can do "all things" when all the "odds" are stacked against you!" Yet, so many, because of rejection, have cast away their "confidence" and are suffering from low self-esteem. I wrote a book entitled, "Know Your Worth! (Overcoming the Dragon of Low Self-Esteem)" based on Revelation chapter 12. This book incorporates scriptures and my life testimonies on the "dragons" I faced and have since conquered, thanks to the writing of this book. I am especially concerned about our young women, who are either turning to prostitution or lesbianism because they don't value or know their worth. I am asking yiou to help me to make this book a best seller. On Monday, October 19, I am asking you to help place me on the Amazon Bestseller list. Please visit my website for more information at, http://www.knowurworth.com/id47.html

Also preview and read an excerpt of the book at:

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. --Hebrews 11:6

More often than not, I think we all have a tendency to make things in life more complicated than they really are. And this includes knowing God’s will.

Because knowing God’s will isn’t a formula you have to figure out… nor is it a mystery that He’s trying to keep you from solving.

Knowing God’s will in your life stems from your relationship with Him, your obedience to Him, your willingness to follow Him, and your faith to trust Him.

Today, let’s break each of those down one by one.

First of all, think about the relationship principle. When you’re connected to Jesus Christ… when His Spirit is living in you… you discover His will for your life as you walk with Him each day. You see the path He has for you when you take the time to read the Scriptures… when you speak with Him regularly through prayer… and when you intentionally listen for the still, small voice that says, “This is the way, walk in it.” Because when Jesus rules your life, He will lead you!

Then, think about the obedience principle. Many people aren’t happy to hear it, but God won’t take you one step further than the measure of your obedience to Him. For some of us that means getting back in the center of God’s will as we know it, and then letting God lead us the rest of the way!

Third, there’s the willingness principle. So much of knowing and doing the will of God is just being willing to say, “Lord, I’m available. Lord, I’m accessible. Lord, I am willing.” Now, you may say, “Well, I’m not there yet.” But are you willing to be willing.

Last, there’s the faith principle. I’ve discovered in my own life the will of God requires faith. As today’s verse says, “Without faith it is impossible to please him.” And Christian, God will do amazing things in your life if you are willing to act in faith and trust in Him!
