Do you think it's ok for a Pastor of a church to be single.

I have really struggled with this question and was wondering what does the bible say about a single pastor.

Do we have the Ministry of the Prophet that "Warns" ?

Has anyone received a "warning" from the ministry of the prophet? Whether it was a dream, an open vision, a sermon, or the gifts of interpretation of tongues followed by a message directly to you? What was your response? Was there an alerting to danger or changing direction?
Tried this question on Facebook and only a few that are prophets even had a word for thier own life. Not sure if prophets are being hindered or just real quiet.

God Will Keep You

[As for me] I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me. You are my Help and my Deliverance, O my God, do not tarry! Psalm 40:17

God has a plan for each of us, and the good things that happen to us are not just a coincidence. All good and perfect gifts come from God (see James 1:17). It is exciting to have a relationship with with God when we are aware that He is carefully leading and guiding us to… Continue

He Will Reward You

So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be enterd (blotted out, wiped clean), tha times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from teh presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

Success principles alone will not work in your life if you don't spend time with God, allowing His Holy Spirit to be your Counselor and to give you revelation and understanding of what to do each day. But if you… Continue

TOTAL COMMITMENT TO JESUS

Make your compass in life total commitment to Christ. Consult him on every step take. Let him set your course and he will direct you to places of freedom and fulfillment you never knew existed. Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. " So kneel at the feet of Jesus today and say, I am nothing; You are everything. Here are… Continue

JEHOVAH JIREH, OUR PROVIDER:

BIBLE MEDITATION:

Matthew 14:14 - "And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved

with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick."

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:

It is the unbelievable, supernatural replenishment that awakens the world to see

the mighty power of God. Jesus demonstrated, once with a crowd of 5,000 and

again with a crowd of 4,000, that He is the God who provides (see Matthew

14:14-21, 15:32-38). When the most "responsible"… Continue

THE WEEK MEDICINE

Meditation for the week: 'BE GRATEFUL"

When you’re grateful to God for the things He has done for you, be sure that greater miracles are on the way. Apart from showing gratitude to God, be grateful to those around you. Always say, thank you for what they do for you. It pays to be a grateful person. For example, one day in the bible, the Lord Jesus had an encounter with ten lepers. They cried out to Him to have mercy on them, and the Lord told them to go and show themselves to the… Continue

A THANKFUL HEART

One day an old dog fell down into a barren well. The animal cried aloud. Its owner heard the cry but decided to abandon the dog, as it was very old and sick. The well was useless and so he decided to fill it with mud and bury the dog alive. His children and some workers came to his help. They began to shovel dirt into the well.

When each shovelful of dirt fell on his back, the dog would shake it off and take a step up. They continued to shovel dirt on top of the dog at maximum speed. But… Continue

Do yourself a favor and be prosper

While I was typing this, there was an event going on where people are jogging to raise money for a cause. Nothing wrong with that. The only problem is it's being held downtown, where buses run. The event is basically holding up traffic. While the people with money are participating in the event, having fun, smiling, etc, me and others on the bus are complaining, were being held up in traffic, being late to where we need to be. It goes without saying, people who do not have the "poverty"… Continue

What are some financial responsibilities you can delegate to you church staff?

Proper handling of money is important to churches of all sizes. Internal accounting controls are essential in properly managing and caring for God’s resources.

If at all possible, the responsibilities and roles of your financial administration should be in writing, such as position descriptions.

Can a church withhold tax for the clergy-pastor?

Can a church withhold tax for the clergy?

Yes. The church can withhold income tax, but not Social Security and Medicare tax.

A minister is responsible for paying the Social Security and Medicare tax himself. He can pay this tax by making quarterly estimated tax payment, or by requesting the church to hold out extra income tax.

The minister who is considered a church employee must complete a form W-4 and request that a specific amount be withheld from each… Continue

What is Clery-Pastor self-employment tax?

What is self-employment tax?

The self-employment tax consists of 12.4% for Social Security and 2.9% for Medicare (15.3% combined).

Unlike non-minister employees, the church cannot withhold half of the Social Security and Medicare tax from a minister employee’s paycheck and does not have to match any FICA tax as none is held out.

Instead, a minister employee is responsible for paying his own self-employment tax. As a result, the minister employee actually pays twice as… Continue

Do clergy receive special tax treatments?

Do clergy receive special tax treatments?

Yes and No. Clergy receive special tax treatment for the following three topics:

•Ministers pay their own self-employment tax.(Even though ministers can be considered church employees, they are treated as self-employed for Social Security and Medicare tax purposes.

•Ministers can receive a Housing Allowance and/or live in a church provided parsonage. (The value of both of these are excluded from a… Continue

Do You Have A Housing Allowance Set Up For Your Pastor?

A housing allowance is basically payments made by the church to the minister for the minister's estimated housing expenses.

It is a great tax benefit for ministers. Sadly, a lot of ministers or church board members do not know anything about it, especially in smaller churches.

It is very beneficial for ministers to designate part of their compensation package as a housing allowance because it is exempt from federal income tax...BUT NOT from the minister's self-employment… Continue
