The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."
Isaiah 29:13-14

The spirit of the law is lost in the effort to follow the letter of the law. This is where mediocrity creeps in. This is where the separation rises to diminish the glory of God in the individual. The traditional church sets rules and customs that create clicks, clacks and clans. There is a pecking order that is produced in this process. If a person is not invited or accepted within these groups they tend to shy away from being of service to that church. They are further alienated and begin to blame God for this man made schism.

The greatest damage in all this is that people lose sight of the God within ourselves. If I feel slighted and ostrasized by those who claim to represent God, I can come to believe that I am not good enough for God. If I believe I am not good enough for God, how can I believe that His glory can be manifested through me.

I can't perform wonders because "I'm not there yet". Why aren't you there? Who is it that determines when you are "there"? Who is the "I am"? If not you, who? If not now, when? If you confess it with your tongue, and believe in your heart, the only one who can hold you back from the glory and blessings of God is you.

Father God, open our hearts and minds to recieve the fullness of who You would have us to be. Make our lives be evidence to the unbelievers that You are our only way to salvation. Elevate our understanding of Your word that we may no longer be tricked or treated away from You. Help us to see the dividing of the wheat from the chaff and know that we are part of Your magnificent harvest. In Jesus' name, Amen
