2 Chronicles 12:13-14 King Rehoboam regrouped and reestablished his rule in Jerusalem. He was forty-one years old when he became king and continued as king for seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city God chose out of all the tribes of Israel as the special presence of his Name. His mother was Naamah from Ammon. But the final verdict on Rehoboam was that he was a bad king—God was not important to him; his heart neither cared for nor sought after God.
When we look into the latter part of the verse we can diagnose King Rehoboam condition – he did not have concern for God neither did he seek him. He was separated from God our source.

Ss 5: 2,3
I sleep, but my heart is awake; It is the voice of my beloved!
He knocks, saying, “ Open for me, my sister, my love,
My dove, my perfect one; For my head is covered with dew,
My locks with the drops of the night.”
I have taken off my robe; How can I put it on again?
I have washed my feet; How can I defile them?

In Song of Solomon 5 we have an interesting picture of the believer's communion with the Lord. The maiden is asleep, but the voice of her beloved comes from outside the door. He wants her to share her love with him, but she is too lazy to get up. "I have put off my coat; I have washed my feet." It is as though she says, "Please, don't bother me. I'm too comfortable." Then she sees his hand (v. 4) and realizes her sin. Remember—his hands are pierced. She then rises, but, alas, her beloved has gone. He left some perfume at the door, but what good is the blessing without the Blesser? I—Wiersbe Expository Outlines

Luke 6:45 (King James Version)
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
