"You are not saved through baptism and therefore, it does not cleanse you of your sins."
Sis, who told you that?
Read:
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them,---> Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
"...The only thing that physical water washes away is dirt. Period. "Without the shedding of BLOOD, there is NO REMISSION (PROOF: Hebrews 9:22). What can wash away my sins, NOTHING but the BLOOD of Jesus! According to your argument, the phrase would read, What can wash away my sins, nothing but the water of ????????..."
Thats why you get baptized in His Name.
He is the one who shed his blood for us.
So all that baptizing that was going on was for nothing. It did nothing but wash dirt away?
Why did Ananais tell Paul to get baptized since his soul was already saved and why did Peter tell those at Jerusalem to repent and get baptized since they already believed?
The baptism that JESUS brought was not a water baptism at all. It was the baptism of the HOLY GHOST. You constantly refer to baptism thinking that it only speaks of water. When JESUS spoke of it, He referred to the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Trevor,
all the while I'm reading about this water baptism over and over til its sounding [to me] like a needle got stuck in a broken groove.... yet I'm thinking exactly what you wrote
Brother Watson, can you do the 'Jesse' for us using these scriptures, please:
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

"And now why are you (Paul) waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord"
I heard the gospel and it made me want to turn away from my sins - so I repent of my sins and got baptized then I received the Holy Ghost.
I don't read where you acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or that you asked Him into your heart and mind.
So, ARE YOU SURE YOU RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST?????
And no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
