ACCEPTING CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOUR - What scripture is that?

This modern tradition of telling people they are saved if they ACCEPT JESUS as their personal saviour is ridiculous.

Hahahahah! - now tell me WHY I am wrong.

....Amen, and thanks for Defending the Gospel of Jesus the Christ, Chaplian Harris.....

What I do notice is some of you are defending this NEW formula for people being saved and NOT one of you defend the word of God.

I point to what the men of God said and did to people wanting to get saved and I hear...****crickets****...from you.
Nothing - no 'Amen' - no 'Yeah that IS the word of God'.

But when this formula of telling people to take Christ as the personal saviour - now they are saved - I see passion and apologetics and weaving of bits and pieces of why now its done differently than what has been done for almost 2000 years and more importantly its done differently than how Jesus was baptized and how Jesus told His disciples to do it and how the apostles DID do it.

See that's the point of this thread -
Why doesn't Scripture trump Tradition for todays brand of Christianity?
You love this formula but where is your love for what Jesus commanded and what the apostles did?

Why defend this practice?
Why not just say: Let God be True and Every man be a liar and I know that Jesus has not told the men of God to practice saving souls like this and I know that His disciples did not do this but I like it just fine and but in the future I will START baptizing people the old fashioned way - the ancient way - the early church way?

Pastor Valentine, help me understand.
What I do notice is some of you are defending this NEW formula for people being saved and NOT one of you defend the word of God.

Another act of twisting someone's statement/comment. Nobody said anything about a NEW formula. In fact, no one said anything about a FORMULA at all.

The Word does not need defending; IT STANDS ON ITS OWN!
Sister, how do you tell people they should get saved?
Newview, I don't actually tell people they should get saved. I start off by asking if I may ask them a few personal questions:

1. Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
2. To you, who is Jesus?
3. Do you think there's a Heaven and Hell?
4. If you died today, where would you go?
5. If you went to Heaven, why would God let you in?

Would you care to respond to any of these questions before I go any further?
This is the whole thing. We are preaching following the Word of God. The WORD OF GOD SAYS KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS TO GET ETERNAL LIFE. THAT IS WHAT WE PREACH.
Hezekiah,

That is what YOU preach.

Do you have a clue to the Dispensational Work of Jesus Christ?
"...Newview, I don't actually tell people they should get saved..."

Ooops, there I go again with you.
I didint kno that you never told people how to get saved.
Since you have 'no part nor lot' in this matter - I guess I will place my question with those that do tell the lost how they can recieve salvation.

So once again to those that believe this modern way of salvation - which seems to be without repentance and water baptism - tell me why no water baptism anymore like the bible days and even up to this last century?

Some saints get on the Catholics for sprinkling water on people because it's really not burying in water and some saints get on the Catholics for pouring a cup of water on people because it too is not burying in water ----> now so many (not all) so many dont even bother getting a cup of water.

Why isnt water baptism necessary for salvation?
And why has it changed so recently?
Newview,

Again, you have misinterpreted my statement. I don't tell people they should get saved, because it needs to come to them as a desire to want to be saved. I cannot be dogmatic with salvation - in other words, I do not shove salvation down their throats.

For the record, I have led many people to salvation because they ask, "how do I get saved?"

Once again, why not answer these few questions? They should be real easy for you IF your are saved.

1. Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
2. To you, who is Jesus?
3. Do you think there's a Heaven and Hell?
4. If you died today, where would you go?
5. If you went to Heaven, why would God let you in?
Pastor Valentine you can't really get people saved in Romans if you skip over the Book of Acts chapter 2chapter 10 chapter 19 you are miss leading people. Where did all the new testament churches get saved in? The Book of Acts! Romans through Jude is the churches that were already established (born-again)from in the Book of Acts. Romans through Jude was written to keep the churches saved giving exhortations!
Christ is not your personal savior. You are your personal savior. Christ is your master, and if you keep his commandments, then he will reward you with eternal life. Here is the choice we were given from the foundation of the world. Eat from the Tree of Life and Live, or Eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and Die.
CHRIST IS MY LORD, MASTER, AND SAVIOR . . .AND HE IS PERSONAL TO ME BECAUSE OF OUR RELATIONSHIP.

APPARENTLY, YOU DON'T KNOW JESUS!

I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE IN YOUR SHOES ON THAT DAY WHEN HE SAYS,

". . . . .I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity."
You are praying to another Jesus.
