1 Corinthians 9:20
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.

To the Jews I became as a Jew - Conforming myself in all things to their manner of thinking and living, so far as; I could with innocence. To them that are under the law - Who apprehend themselves to be still bound by the Mosaic law. As under the law - Observing it myself, while I am among them. Not that he declared this to be necessary, or refused to converse with those who did not observe it. This was the very thing which he condemned in St. Peter, Gal 2:14.

count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Galatians 4

21Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

24These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27

Romans 8:3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

Hebrews 7:19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

17Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and brag about your relationship to God; 18if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

28A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.

Romans 8:2

because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Being under the Law means being under the Law of sin and death...all have sinned and thus are under the Law...unless Jesus has paid for their sins on the cross...from before the foundation of the world...they are God's elect and are not under the penalty of the breaking of the Law through Christ...

1 Corinthians 9:20
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.

Notice Paul made it clear that he was not under the Law...because he is under grace through Christ...we are pardoned from the penalty of the breaking of thr Law any Law All of God's Laws..through Christ's perfectly keeping them for us and then dying in our place so that we would live...we would have died unde the Law if not for Christ...we would have been cast into hell...the wages of sin is death physical and spiritual...but the free gift of Christ...is eternal Life...

I posted the link to this same topic that I addressed on 01/06/10 simply because it was too lengthy to copy and paste.
Preacher,

We are pardon from the law's penalty, and not from obedience to it.
James,

The Preacher did not say we were pardoned from obedience to Yah's commandments; only the penalty.
Paul taught what Jesus instructed him to teach Satans Job is to separate the two to try and nulify the gospel..

Galatians 2:16: “Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.”

sista harris very well layed out thread "What Does It Mean To Be "Under The Law?"
Chaplain,

He believes both.
We are pardoned from the penalty of sin...that doesn't mean we can do whatever we want..we receive a new nature..and we don't want to sin any longer..when a believer does fall into a sin...they feel pain and repent..thats the new nature...no matter what we do we are not under the penalty of death..wich is hell..we are secure in Christ because he paid the price for us..

Preacher said--- no matter what we do we are not under the penalty of death..wich is hell..we are secure in Christ because he paid the price for us

hell =Transliteration:

B.Sheol - the OT designation for the abode of the dead ,

this is the only thing we're promised
what would put one in the lake of fire???

Hebrews 10:26-29 (King James Version)

26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Once one becomes born agin...they have total everlasting security...forever and ever and ever and ever.. :)
Brother, again, you bring the imagination of your heart. Repent, and humble yourself.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts
and the calling of God are irrevocable. ...

Galatians 3:15 Brothers, let me take an example from everyday life ... ... Dear brothers and sisters, here's an example from everyday life. Just as no one
can set aside or amend an irrevocable agreement, so it is in this case. ...
