Defense against Slanderous Remarks (Sexual Misconduct COGIC)

Greetings in the name of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

This communication finds a watchful believer praying and fasting on behalf of our leader and our great church. Scripture tells us, “…when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” -Isaiah 59:19. The enemy has come in the form of slander and deceit.

In a letter dated December 27, 2009, an anonymous writer submits to a social network the most horrific lie ever told concerning our leader, Bishop Peter Wren, Sr. Because the contents of the letter are under investigation will can not divulge excerpts, however, the scripture declares in 1 Chronicles 16:22, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” We know that information like this is intended to harm the leader and scatter the sheep. People of God, as an under shepherd, I encourage you to take out your spiritual weapons; it’s time to fight the devil. Spiritual Warfare only!!! We are fully aware that innocent people that read such columns find it hard to rebound from such trash. I caution each of you to protect your spirit and not allow the enemy to enter through your eye-gate or ear-gate. It is our prayer that whoever is involved would refrain from such slanderous remarks and repent. We are a ministry that believes solely in God’s Word (the Bible) and if such would repent God would restore them back into His fold.

And finally, to our leader, Bishop Peter Wren, Sr., if the enemy has put out such an attack on your character, your life, your reputation and your ministry, God is able to sustain you through any/every attack of the enemy. The congregation and supporters are standing in your full support and we say to our leader, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

For the sake of clarity, are you suggesting that the forum entitled "Sexual Misconduct COGIC" is the product of fabrication and that its author is lying?

It's clear that you would defend your father's honor because it's the natural thing to do. There is no love like that of a mother and father but what you all here seem to forget is that there IS NO LOVE quite like the LOVE OF GOD. You speak of slander and weapons but GOD said in his word Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. I said a prayer before my reply and I come in defense of anchored soul saying that she (anchored soul ) only had the strength and courage to do what others like myself did not. In your words you also cited scripture I Chronicles 16:22 “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” and I found that to be very ironic. As followers, we are taught not to defame a man of God but I would like to also think that as leaders you are taught to uphold the word of God and not use it for selfish gain.(Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.) I also come as a victim of Bishop Peter Wren Sr. You confide in him some of your intimate secrets seeking spiritual guidance and he then takes those same secrets and guide you into unwarranted sexual advances and also his bed. I was too young and naïve to see through the deceit because like most innocent souls, we seek love and acceptance no matter what form. Though Bishop’s actions did in fact have an impact on me, GOD had all power, showing me that he had better plans for my life. See I’ll continue to pray for Bishop as I always have over the years because it was through his misconduct that I found refuge in God. (Psalm 25:20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I find refuge in thee.) You also speak of repentance and my only prayer is that Bishop Peter Wren Sr. and your family as well as your church family pray not only for his soul but the souls of his victims that have strayed from God due your leaders actions. I say to all that read and respond here, we can go back and forth on the validity of posts here but in the end,God’s truth prevails.

This is for Chris Wren. It's very clear that you would respond in this manner. YOU TOO are guilty of the same action. How many wives and women have you had with in the church? You have had your wives and mistresses in the church at the same time. You were sent to a church somewhere in Dolomite AL, not only did you go with your wife but you had your paramour also. You were taken down as pastor because of this action. So the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Did you not take your lady friend on the cruizes you guys go on each year. Why not take your mother and wife? Don't blame this on the women in the church, we all know the Wren's believe a woman's place is to do whatever that man wants. She should be seen and NOT heard, his actions are always correct. So I would suggest YOU Chris Wren sit back and be quiet, or the door will open to your closet and all your business will be out.

No need to ask WHY, WHY, now you know. You need to defend yourself, before your little affairs are brought out.

In the Name of Jesus!! WHY, WHY? Would any Leader drop to this level? I have been following this since Anchored Soul posted her story. I see something here that has been mentioned over and over again..." Sweeping under the rug"!

To Chris Wren as I understand this is your father who has been suddenly placed in the spotlight of shame. If you’re an Elder/Pastor you’re just as guilty for allowing him your (Leader/father) to continue. You stated the story that Anchored Soul posted was the most horrific lie ever told concerning your leader/father, Bishop Peter Wren, Sr. My question to you, were you there? Truly there’s only three that really knows the truth; Anchored Soul, Bishop Peter Wren, Sr., and The Almighty God! I also agree with (ILL b Nice) who stated: This kind of negligence has been covered up for so long. How is it that this Bishop/Leader can continue as head of a Jurisdiction preaching the "Gospel" and this not be addressed or investigated? Please read and understand 1Timothy 3:1-13. That does not describe you or your leader/father.

To Bishop Peter Wren, Sr., I’m puzzled about something, if in fact you’re innocent how did you come to the conclusion that Ms Youngblood is Anchored Soul? I’ve read several other stories since and there were other victims. I say that to say this. There’s some truth to her story for you to know who she is or who you claim her to be. I’ve contacted one of the individual through private email. I was very stunned at what I’ve learned. I strongly believe this need to go public and get media coverage. I also learned there’s evidence to prove that you Bishop Peter Wren, Sr. have been involved in sexual misconduct within the COGIC…….. Now that this has my full attention, I‘ll do whatever I need to do to get this to the top! Last, how could you a Bishop/Leader talk such trash about that young lady who you once aid and you claim need to seek some type of Psychiatric help. I don’t care what type of pressure you are under, being a leader you should never drop to this level. Do you not teach to let GOD fight your battles? I pray for your worshippers and jurisdiction that they know the word for themselves.

On December 27, 2009, a blog and/or discussion board posted a letter from a member ID (Anchored Soul) concerning the Sexual Misconduct in COGIC. Judging by the content and after further research, the writer is Tiffany Youngblood, originally from Union Springs now living in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms Youngblood moved to the City of Birmingham in search of a place to stay, worship and work while she attended college. Ms. Youngblood attended the church where I pastured and after some time we realized she needed a place to stay. She befriended my family and eventually moved into our home. For a period of (2) two years she stayed with my family, providing her a roof over her head and food to eat; worked at my place of business, providing her with revenue to support herself. In just a little while she would show a forming motive, after consumptions of alcohol, she would make advances at me. After rebukes and repeat attempts, I put her out of my home. She became angry and left the church and now is seeking ways to destroy my character by spreading these horrible lies. Tiffany Youngblood, it is my recommendation that you seek some type of Psychiatric help and if these lies continue it leaves me no choice but to take legal actions against you because of Slander and Deformation of Character.

The sad thing about all this is people KNOW this may be true but instead of telling the truth or being quiet about it they choose to lie on themselves, the persons involved and God Himself.
COGIC has been dealing with this type of thing for years.
Did not Bishop J.O. Patterson have children out of wedlock that he did not acknowledge in his lifetime?
We need to stop this mess.
We are destroying the church, the legacy of Bishop Mason and worse destroying the integrity of God!!!

Whos' to say if anything DID or DIDN'T happen? We do not know. Only God knows. Let GOD handle this and stop debating what this man may or may not have done. Let them be. I know that COGIC has a rocky reputation, but at the same time, let's not stir a nest of ants. Only Peter Wren and those women know if anything happened. Let God be the judge of that.
