Remember when you first started in the ministry. everything seems so cut and dry. You new that your calling was ure. It was nice. Doing the work of the Lord, feeling the power of the annointing when you spoke. Knowing that God was speaking through you. You had challenges but this only forced you to pray more and to seek His face. The staages missionary, evangelist, minister. Then you move up to elder and everything changes. Suddenly you are taking on more responsibility than you ever have. You plan programs, make contacts, put announcements on the radio and tv. You make sure guests are comfortable that come to bring the Word of Life. Lately I have noticed something else - Pulpit Predators. Men and women o the gospel that Abuse their athority. They become a little to god-like. Whatever they say goes because they are Apostes,Overseers,Bishops, etc. Some say things to belittle people and keep them in place. What happens when someone pushes back? Yes, there is supposed to be respect there, bu name calling, downing other Pastors, saying that unless ministers are a carbon copy they won't make it. Pastors and the like do not call these people to settle in to learn from those above their level. I feel that most people that look to be a part of ministry have an earnest desire to work for God but, when they are beaten down, insulted, made fun of-then it is almost like a betrayal. I have worked with people that tell me everyone's short coming and turn right around and ask them to guest minister at their church. I 'm just a Pastor but when an Apostle acts like this it vexes my spirit. When the higher ups don't practice what they preach we are letting their rank say how things flow. God' house is sacred-no gossips, verbal abusers have place here. I even heard one Apostle say they would tell other ministries not to welcome some people in because they did not get along with them. My question is where do they go then with broken spirit, confusion, they question whether or not they are any use to the Kingdom. I've evn seen one go to a mental facility under the pressure as minister. What does the bible say about these things? The higher you go the more compassion, understanding, love and caring should be portrayed. You can not use verbal abuse to scare people. Then your members don't love you*but fear you. But when you deal with people coming in from the street, alley, abusive situations, financial hardships, abandonment they can not take but so much more before something snaps. I hve had many conversations with members of other churches where this is going on. The pstors seem ok with it. It is not ok but what can be done? I'm cncerned because I see so much potential that hasnow turned into doubt in some of them. Do you have any suggestions? thanks Prophetess Pastor T
