Should we still be OBLIGATED AS TO OBEY A LAW to tithe?

Or should we give as our heart leads without compulsion or obligation as II Corinthians 9:7 says. Should we still be held under one letter of the law (the tithe) and dissolve all others with the blood of Jesus? Was the blood unable to dissolve the law of the tithe.

Yeah, I know...Abraham gave 10% to Melchizadek. Remember, however, he gave it by faith out of honor and not by law and you don't hear of Abraham tithing in that manner again. This was a foreshadow of things to come in the priesthood. Christ was the firstfruit offering and satisfied the requirements of the law. Satisfied meaning no longer requiring payment.

Read Galatians & Colossians and understand that the text speaks of any part of the law...not just circumcision.

This has nothing to do with the Levitical priesthood (Lev. 27:30-32, Numbers 18:21-24).

This has nothing to do with the tithing law prescribed in the Old Testament.

Please do not make confusion!

This is not a law or a new doctrine.

It is simply a question of gratefulness.

The born again believer gives the tithe because he loves the Lord and because of what Christ has done for him.

We don't give the tithe to be saved. We give it because we are saved, and because we want others to be saved.

Abraham and Jacob didn't live according to the Law of Moses (Galatians 3:15-17 ).

They gave their tithe to God(Jesus Christ) freely, by faith.

Tithe is given to the Church, and Jesus is the head of the Church.

The tithe should supply(support) the needs of all the Church, all the believers and the servants of God.

Jesus is the Almighty God, the Melchizedek to whom Abraham gave the Tithe.

Jesus is the Almighty God, the Melchizedek to whom Jacob gave the Tithe.

They gave their tithe freely (by faith) to JESUS-CHRIST.

Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)!

Indeed, Jesus said:

As Abraham's seed, as a son of Abraham I do what Abraham did, by faith.

The Tithe is not necessarily money.

The tithe of Abraham and Jacob are not foreshadows of things to come in the priesthood, but a duly establised convenant before the introduction of the law 430 years later(Galatians 3:15-19).

No one can set aside or add to that convenant. It is still in force today!

We give the tithe by faith and not according to the law which was added because of transgressions 430 years later

Please, reread the book of Genesis.

Don't you know that Abraham paid the tithe to God(Genesis 14:20)?

Don't you know that Levi himself paid the tithe to God through Abraham(Hebrews 7:9-10)?

Don't you know that Jacob paid the tithe to God(Genesis 28:20-22)?

Its true that Jacob gave a tithe to God, but we are speaking of "commandments" here. The only time when "Israel" is commanded to tithe is under law, and to give this tithe to the Levite Priests, who did not receive land coming out of Egypt.

Tithing....Hmmmmmmmm.

There shouldn't be a problem with giving tithes unto the Lord.... ....I for one give tithes and offering... Because I love to Give to the Lord... especially to the church i attend....

There is no problem when the Goverment takes it part right from the top with no question... Fica/Medicare Federal....etc...etc... But when it come down to Giving God .. then there is a problem.....

The Law is the School Master a Foundation we just don't do away with 100 % since we now think we are the new testament Generation...and that if it don't say it in the new testament then I won't follow it mentality


To each it own.... You have a right to tithe and not tithe it's your choice....
