Can someone please show me in the Bible where this is permitted and explain the text?
Truly, I have been inspired by all of the comments and insight that have come from many of you!! I wanted to open a discussion that would stir the hearts and minds of many and I did. I can see that it is man vs woman and should not be. My question still remains,,,about Women Bishops!!!! The Bible does not co-sign this. I really believe we all are hung on titles. Whatever you do,,,do it all in the name of Jesus. I wanted to make some points and say some things, so that it would stir your knowledge up and cause you to proclaim what you believe. I can say,,,I have walked into many churches,,,and without sayiing a word or opening my mouth,,,,how can these men detect, discern, or sense that God has a call on my life. AND,,,WHAT, call is that? Glory be to God,,,you see many of us should make sure that our scripture references that we are using to back up your point,,,is not contextual customed to fit in your box of beliefs. My statement to this was about,,,women Bishops,,,and I for one don't agree with the TITLE,,,but I believe that a woman can teach the Gospel,,,and if the HOOP is naturally in her when she delievers,,,then hoop. Whether you want to call it style,,,whatever,,,,we all have our style. So,,if I come to some of your churches,,,I can get turned off by even the way some you hoop or TEACH. Everyone is voicing their beliefs. This is a very sensitive topic,,,and women we must make sure we are wise virtuous women,,,one thing is for sure,,,we are MASTERs at multitasking. If God,,,called you to Sunday School, Evangelist,Prophet, then you must remain a help at home. Men,,,i believe if your wife works, has to take care of kids,,,and does servant service to her local Ministry,,,it just WONT kill you to assist her at home. This is one statement that needs constant understanding and research. Our prayer should be that the LORD will enlighten and reveal to us his truth,,,NOT YOUR OPINION or CONVINCING. Ok, let's make sure we are not being prejudice or have respect of persons. Women work,,,so can you explain that.

God's house is not for political battle NOR is it a place (as I have stated before) for the feminist movement.
God has given us (through His Word) HOW he wanted His church setup and I don't care what Oprah says you can do OUTSIDE the church what God says is to be done INSIDE the church needs to be done as HE has intended.
However, if you won't move God knows how to move you.
In these last days God is going to show His presence in this earth like never before.
So, stay where you are and watch God move you.

Technically speaking, there was no women Evangelists mentioned in the Bible either, so is that a reason to relinquish your position? I think not. The Bishopric is not gender-bias, people are. When Paul said the husband of one wife, it was talking first of being a faithful person. Secondarily, it spoke of "husband" because we generally speak of things from the male context, though we would not exclude the female. Take for instance the term "man-kind". There is no such thing as "woman-kind" when talking about human beings as a whole, is there?

The Bishopric was a position of that of a Pastor/Overseer in its original sense. In the O.T., PARTICULARLY THE TORAH (Book of Genesis), you seen female shepherds present. So if the female Shepherd (Pastor) was in the Law, then it should not be restricted now. I point to that particularly because we have many that stress Torah Keeping (modern day Pharisees) on BPN. No offense to them, just something they should take note of.

Acts 20:28-31describes that the office of Bishop/Overseer was not a position of "desire" as many claim and misunderstand, but the HOLY SPIRIT placed them as such. If GOD calls women to such a leadership, then would it be a crime against the boy of Christ? Certainly not, for Deborah was judge over all of Israel (Judges 4:4) the position held by Moses himself, then Joshua his disciple. If being an Overseer/Pastor is a crime, then why did Apostle Paul himself mention "the house of Chloe" in 1st Corinthians? Some want to stake claim that the Church held all its meetings in the synagogues, but this couldn't be farther from the truth, for the Jews rejected the LORD JESUS. Therefore, they also held services in the houses of those chosen as leaders and teachers. There is no dancing around this fact, or the fact that Chloe is a female's name.

The Bishopric in itself is misunderstood for it does not resemble its original state. Regardless of that fact, however, the Bishopric (or Apostleship for that matter) is not closed to women. Paul spoke in Titus chapter 1 concerning who he was, indicating the first few verses his allegiance to GOD the FATHER the the LORD JESUS as GOD's servants and Christ's Apostle. He also stated WHY he was able to make such claim: he basically said ""As sure as you are claiming the faith of eternal life, I am claiming the office of Apostle by JESUS Christ". This is a bold statement to hold onto. This is what all ministers should hold to, be it male or female. They are Ministers according to the truth of GOD's Word and the hope of glory, and the only way they are not a chosen minister of Christ is if GOD lied to them when HE called them.

You claim this as an Evangelist, Sis Yolanda. Those other women hold to this as a Bishop.

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Dear sister, keep on preaching!

But, know that it is your own desire!

Many preachers will demonstrate that a woman can be a Pastor, an Evangelist etc.

But, know that you have gathered around you a great number of teachers to say what your itching ears want to hear.

WHAT??? If I teach or preach, I use the same bible you do,,, Nothing that comes from my mouth is to fit itching ears,, maybe you should consider what you say. I think everybody should be able to stand for him/herself... I do understand the works of God (Yah) through women today..yesterday... and in the future... I also understand that many are taking positions unto themselves... which clearly violates Scripture... God (Yah) has always worked through both men and women... but when it comes down to role function... God (Yah) has His way which is outlined in Scripture... the problem bro. Trevor is man/woman in his/her sinfulness don't want to follow the Word but want to adhere to doctrines that's man made... this has been going on since the rebellion by Adam and Eve... God (Yah) has always been clear on how He wants us to reverance and worship Him...

Brother, I once walked in error following a preacher who was also in error... so in no way am I judging... I thank God (Yah) that I now know the way... many have a zeal for God (Yah) but not according to knowledge...

Scripture speaks for itself...all that was asked was for Scripture.. nothing more and nothing less..
