Can someone please show me in the Bible where this is permitted and explain the text?
Truly, I have been inspired by all of the comments and insight that have come from many of you!! I wanted to open a discussion that would stir the hearts and minds of many and I did. I can see that it is man vs woman and should not be. My question still remains,,,about Women Bishops!!!! The Bible does not co-sign this. I really believe we all are hung on titles. Whatever you do,,,do it all in the name of Jesus. I wanted to make some points and say some things, so that it would stir your knowledge up and cause you to proclaim what you believe. I can say,,,I have walked into many churches,,,and without sayiing a word or opening my mouth,,,,how can these men detect, discern, or sense that God has a call on my life. AND,,,WHAT, call is that? Glory be to God,,,you see many of us should make sure that our scripture references that we are using to back up your point,,,is not contextual customed to fit in your box of beliefs. My statement to this was about,,,women Bishops,,,and I for one don't agree with the TITLE,,,but I believe that a woman can teach the Gospel,,,and if the HOOP is naturally in her when she delievers,,,then hoop. Whether you want to call it style,,,whatever,,,,we all have our style. So,,if I come to some of your churches,,,I can get turned off by even the way some you hoop or TEACH. Everyone is voicing their beliefs. This is a very sensitive topic,,,and women we must make sure we are wise virtuous women,,,one thing is for sure,,,we are MASTERs at multitasking. If God,,,called you to Sunday School, Evangelist,Prophet, then you must remain a help at home. Men,,,i believe if your wife works, has to take care of kids,,,and does servant service to her local Ministry,,,it just WONT kill you to assist her at home. This is one statement that needs constant understanding and research. Our prayer should be that the LORD will enlighten and reveal to us his truth,,,NOT YOUR OPINION or CONVINCING. You see,,he that wins a soul is wise. We must make sure we ALL speak wisely. God Bless You All And thanks for the replies and the most of all THE WORD!!

How insulting and arrogant of you!! As ignorant as you all sound for saying that, for the first time I'm SERIOUSLY insulted!
Trevor,

Take no insult at all. My motive was not insult you. I apologize if I did. But, I stated the obvious truth concerning your statement.
The obvious truth is not so obvious. No where in scripture is that prayer stated but that mindset is indicated in scripture. The problem is, it is indicated amongst the hypocrite who say life up and love thy neighbor as thyself, yet put people down, yet not afford the same people you "love" the equal opportunity and respect that you have in Christ. What happened to "all are one in Christ"?
Moreh, it is you that place it there. I simply identified it for what it is: being a mordern day Pharisee
This is the same attitude that is taken upon those that say women are not to stand up within the ministry of the Gospel. You speak of them as if they are still under the curse: modern day Pharisees
That comment was not to you, Moreh, but to another person on here.
"You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope".

Galatians 5:4-5
Trevor,
nobody said that women didn't have respective ministry roles... you're reaching and implying things that weren't said... what was said is that men and women have different role functions... that wasn't reversed nor was it apart of the curse... that's why it's important to stay in the context of Scripture... I believe women has a lot to offer and contributes great work to the ministry...

"Let God (Yah) be true and every man a lie..." God's (Yah's) Logos must be taken over man's doctrines, feelings, and opinions... God (Yah) does not lie, He also doesn't go back on His Word... that's why I believe in Sola Scriptura...

Once again, I believe women does great work for the ministry... I don't believe they're to be left out and treated like property or 2nd class... I believe we're all on the same level as to our salvation with God (Yah)... however, we all have different roles in which God (Yah) ordained for us to operate in... The Bible doesn't contridict itself... but man contridicts the Bible... If we operate in the roles that's laid down for us in Scripture... we all would do a great work...

"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach." (Isa. 4:1)

Trevor, This wasn't never an issue until the post-modern era... Historically was the church wrong for the last 2,000 years? Instead of the Church (The called out) exercising its prophetic role by proclaiming the will of God (Yah) to a sinful society, they reverse this role by demanding that the Church change its beliefs to conform to secular society. To avoid deception we should always be in line with scripture and not the trends of contemporary society; we should never deviate from the Bible...
1) For starters, the Church over 2,000 years has made many major mistakes. To blot out the office of the Apostle and Prophet for starters was one of them. You cling to Sola Scriptura, yet ignore the words of the Apostles and Prophets by it. Such a position is held by Sadducees. You are familiar with them, aren't you? By the word of GOD through Apostle Paul in 1st Corinthians 12, 1st Thessalonians 5:19-20, Ephesians 4:8-16, and other places. Sola Scriptura is not fully supported by Scripture.

2) The Church has had women in the Bishopric, Pastoral, Priest, and the Deaconate offices. Check your Church history, and not just Roman Catholic or Messianic sides either.

3) Isaiah 4:1 has NOTHING to do with a woman's role in ministry. You are now reaching , and reaching really far with that one!
There's no remedy for ignorance... Sola Scriptura is the foundation of Christianity... There are many that claim to be the church but aren't the church (you must seperate the two)... once again your failure to understand contextulization is your hinderance in understanding Scripture... for curiosity, how many courses have you taken in Church history? Where are you getting your info from besides Google and Encyclopedias? You also show ignorance in understanding the prophets... what Isaiah prophesised is happening today... you have yet to show one scripture to back up your doctrine... so if anybody's reaching its certainly you...

brother, your arrogance is truly your downfall... for you to assert that the church has made major mistakes and you have it all figured out is truly arrogance... those who spent their entire lives to Scripture and you're just between the age of 20-40... and clearly not very long in the faith (according to your page)... I guess Martin Luther, John Calvin, Charles Hodges, B.B. Warfield and those before them had it wrong too (according to your understanding)?

I'm done with this discussion... and I'm going to continue praying for you...
brother Trevor I believe that the bible is the inspired and infallable word of God, Sola Scriptura, however, Sola Scriptura demands that no doctrine is to be admitted or confessed that is not found directly or logically within Scripture.

This is where divisions start when ones do not logically apply who, what, when, where, and why to bible study and it does not take going to classes or seminary to do that.

It's good to do, but not necessary(in respect to all my hours)
The interesting thing about Sola Scriptura, is that it leaves no opportunity for the Holy Spirit to move through the gifts of the Spirit such as Prophecy, Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, discernment of Spirits, ect.

Prima Scriptura, however, says that the gifts of the spirit hold weight, with the Scriptures holding top and final authority. It was Prima Scriptura that brought about the Bible in the first place for the Apostles moved by it. Prima Scriptura allows for the Prophetic to flow, for the Holy Spirit to actually speak directly to His servants as HE once did before, and as HE longs to do with each and every saint, with the Scriptures as a guideline.

Evangelist, Sola Scriptura is for those who no longer respect or regard the Apostolic or Prophetic. It was only used by the Protestants because the Popes abused their power found in scriptures like Job 22:21-30, Habakkuk 2:2-3, 1st Thessalonians 5:19-20, and the like. They claim that Revelation 22:18-19 gives such authority, but that is an error dancing on the line of heresy.
