Amen... that is a great point. How can we be devoted to such a lie when African Americans see no justice in this country.
that is true you commit no crime, but this is the country my forefathers were kidnapped to, shed blood, sweat and tears for, I am first a Child of God, with a healthy respect for my country
I can agree with this statement.... I am first a Child of God, with a healthy respect for my country

Yes I do respect this country....that I tempoary live in..... because there are laws of this land/government that we must abide by...But I just can't go long with the Pledge of this Land!!!! Because it's a lie!!!!
When you pledge allegiance, you pledge devotion. Devotion means an act of worship, so it is an act of worship especially when they ask you to cover your heart and lift one hand in the air.
Now I draw the line at swearing on the bible in court
Evan,

Its ok to swear, just as long as you swear by the name of Yehwah.
In our Rotary Club meetings, we were asked to speak and they wanted the raising of your hand and the covering of your heart while you face the flag. Me and my husband declined to do it and turned away from the flag. No one said anything to us about it, cased closed because we stood against it.

This is typically how it's done across the board, so I think people are being tricked into worship.
Also, if you look at the spiritually of marriage it is compared to Christ and his church right? I think our WEDDING VOWS are different than the covering of your heart and the raising of your right hand to pledge allegiance to a piece of fabric..lol
EW,

When you pledge alligance to the flag, its not the flag per se that you are pledging, but rather what this country stand for. Now, if you disagree with the pledge, as I do, then I can understand, but you cannot call pledging alligance to this country a form of worship.
You said a mouthful right there.......... is this not act of worshiping
Rev,

Torah does not speak against making oaths. Torah only speaks of doing it falsely.
that's correct if you make it you must keep it.
