God Is Watching You, a poem by Merlene Howard

GOD IS WATCHING YOU

God tested me one day in the grocery store line
Someone ahead of me need two dollars and a dime

As I shifted my feet from one to the other
Sighed rolled my eyes and thought O brother

As they stood there trying to decide between the bread and the butter
I thought I have one bag of candy maybe I’ll get another

Wait a minute I’m a Christian, is this the way to act
I could help pay for their stuff and put my candy back

It’s time for a little act of kindness without another though
Doing what is Godly is doing what we ought

So wherever the situation arises do what you must do
Remember, Saints of God, He is always watching you
