THE SEVENTH SEAL

When he had opened the seventh seal, there

was silence in heaven for about an half hour

And I saw the seven angels standing before

God, who gave them awesome power

He gave them seven trumpets, and another

angel came and stood at the alter

Having a golden censer, he was given much

incense that with prayer, it, he should offer

The smoke of the incense which came from the prayers

of the saints ascended up to God,… Continue

What is it? by Merlene

What is it?

We never seem to have enough of it for

It is fleeting and can’t be saved yet

It runs out in an hour glass, you

Just turn the glass over and more of it you get

For the old it is running out and

For the new born it has just begun

It is different for every person but it

Is given to each and everyone

Some people waste it, while others don’t

Even give it a second thought

It passes real slow to some in church

Or… Continue

"Children Obey" a poem by Merlene

CHILDREN OBEY

Children, obey your parents in the Lord

for this is right, disobedience is wrong

Honor thy father and thy mother

Lose that sassy, rebuking, tone

This is the first commandment with

promise that it may be well with thee

That you will live longer on this earth

Trust the Lord and you will see

As servants of Christ do the will of

God doing it from the heart

God will not be pleased with you

if you are always… Continue

Get Wisdom and Understanding a poem by Merlene

GET WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

Hear ye children the instruction of a father

and prepare to know understanding

For I will give you good doctrine, forsake

not my laws, this I am demanding

For I was my father’s son, tender and

only beloved in the sight of my mother

He taught me also and said unto me, let

your heart retain my words and no other

Keep my commandments alive and live

Get wisdom, and understanding, forget it… Continue

The Works of a Fool, by Merlene

THE WORKS OF A FOOL

I go to church on Sunday and

When I walk out that door

I leave Jesus on the altar

And I ain’t saved no more

Monday was a work day but

I called in sick, although I’m not

Tuesday finds me tipping around

With someone I though was hot

Wednesday is called hump day

And I am half way there

I didn’t take that missing money

Wasn’t me I swear

Thursday I am counting one

More day just one more

Friday is… Continue

Happy Mother's Day!

MOTHER’S DAY GREETINGS

Eve was the first mother to give birth

She got motherhood started on this Earth

Because of a sin she had done

her first born child was a son

Moses’ mother loved him so, but to

save his life, she had to let him go

She placed her baby on the Nile

and gave Pharaoh’s daughter a big smile

Sarah who was old and through

An angel told her she was due

She gave birth to Isaac, Abraham’s son

and became… Continue

And the Word was made flesh and dwell

among us full of Grace and right

The law was given by Moses, but

grace and truth came by Jesus Christ

The Savior send by God the Father

A Poem by Merlene Howard

NOTHING CAN

Who shall separate us from the love

of Christ? Not tribulation or distress

Nor persecution, or famine, nor peril

nor sword, not even nakedness

As it is written, for, God’s sake we are

killed all day long, as sheep to the slaughter

Nay, all these things, we are more than

conquerors because He loves His daughters

I know that neither death, nor life, nor angels,

nor power, nor present, or future things

Nor height,… Continue

God Is Watching You, a poem by Merlene Howard

GOD IS WATCHING YOU

God tested me one day in the grocery store line

Someone ahead of me need two dollars and a dime

As I shifted my feet from one to the other

Sighed rolled my eyes and thought O brother

As they stood there trying to decide between the bread and the butter

I thought I have one bag of candy maybe I’ll get another

Wait a minute I’m a Christian, is this the way to act

I could help pay for their stuff and put my candy… Continue

A poem by Merlene "No, crucify Him"

“NO” CRUCIFY HIM

Pilate looked at Jesus, but found nothing wrong

Said, send Him to Herod, that’s where the Galilean belong

Herod saw Jesus and was exceedingly glad

He had long wanted to meet Him to see the miracles He had

He questioned Him with many words, Jesus answered him not

The chief priest and scribes accused and mocked, but no answers they got

They clothe Him in a gorgeous robe, sent Him back to Pilate again

This is the day… Continue

A poem by Merlene Howard "There's A Time"

THERE’S A TIME

To everything there is a time

Everything has a season

A time for every purpose under Heaven

God’s time has a reason

A time to be born, and a time to die

A time to plant and a time to sigh

A time to kill and a time to heal

A time to breakdown and a time to build

A time to weep and a time to fuss

A time to mourn when you’ve had enough

A time to embrace and a time to dance

A time to be loved by our fellow… Continue

Death of A Friend by Merlene Howard

DEATH OF A FRIEND

(1 Chronicles 19)

Now it came to pass the King Nahash died

and his son reigned in his stead

Nahash was a friend of David’s, so David

sent messengers to say he was sorry he was dead

But the princes of the Ammon told their new

King “do you really think David is comforting you?”

He is planning to overthrow and spy out the land

so this is what you’d better do

Shave off their beards, cut off their… Continue

Is The Lord Among Us Or Not?

IS THE LORD AMONG US OR NOT?

All the congregation of the children of

Israel set out from the Wilderness of Sin

According to the commandment of the Lord

They camped in a place called Rephidim

But there was no water and the people

complained to Moses, give us water to drink

Moses said, “Why do you tempt the Lord?”

Their actions made them downright stink

As the people thirsted for water, against

Moses they constantly… Continue

A Poem by Merlene Howard THERE IS NOTHING GOD CAN'T DO

THERE IS NOTHING GOD CAN’T DO

There is nothing God can’t do,

so why does bringing life to dry bones surprise you?

He put the breath in Adam and made Eve from his side

He spoke to a dead little girl, and she became alive

He fed the multitude of thousands with a few loaves and some fish

They ate to full had some left over, because Jesus saw to this

There is nothing God can’t do, He gives, but He also takes back

As the person given… Continue

God's Gift A Poem by Merlene Howard

GOD’S GIFT

What then, shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace?

God forbid. For sin has no power over you anymore, but righteousness for God’s sake

Know to whom you yield yourself servants to, know to whom you will obey

Whether you obey sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness, know God takes sin away

For whom you were the servants of sin you certainly were not living right

What were your fruits then to sin? And your… Continue
