Matthew 13:45-46} Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls. Who on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it.

Who is the pearl of great price or what is the pearl of great price? We should all know that answer....it's Jesus and His free gift of salvation. Many of us have received that gift but how many of us have stopped our walk right there? Sadly enough, many have. We have not kept digging into God's word day by day to see all the other hidden treasures He has for us. We are so overtaken by the things of this world that many times we put God on the back burner so to speak. We should be seeking to get to know our Father and Jesus very intimately. Why? Because the more we get to know Him, the more we will fall in love with Him, the more wisdom and knowledge we will have, the more we will be empowered and anointed. So the bottom line is that the benefits of this relationship is huge. God, after all, said in His word that if we seek Him, seek His righteousness, seek His KIngdom THEN ALL THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO US....not just the things we need in the spiritual realm but also the things we need in the physical realm. So you see this walk is more than just being born again, it's accountable to us to seek an intimate relationship with our Father and His Son so that we can get to know Him so well that whatever is happening in this world will not shake us up. He will keep us in constant peace and joy if we will only put our trust and our focus on Him.

I have heard so many Christians say that they hate Christmas! The spirit within me is so grieved when I hear that. If it wasn't for Jesus and Him making a way for us to enter heaven we would have nothing to celebrate this Christmas. The world makes is a secular thing by celebrating the giving of gifts. They are so self-centered that they have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. We received the greatest gift this world could ever think of giving anyone. I can see Christians hating the secular things going on but to hate Christmas? In this time we celebrate the birth of Jesus! That alone should cause us much joy and rejoicing. So many Christians today are falling into the trap of focusing so much on this world and what it is doing with Christian beliefs that they are getting frustrated, discouraged and every other negative thing going on. We need to always focus on heavenly things. We are the ones who are accountable into bringing the true meaning of Christmas back into this world! If the world sees us all hanging our heads down, being discouraged and other things, what kind of a testimony are we? Not a very good one!

It's ok to bless someone with a gift. Personally, I open my home up every Christmas and try to make someone's Christmas a little better by showing the love and generosity of Christ. In fact every one of my gifts reads: From Jesus. I want the focus to be Him, not me. I feed them and give each person a gift. I prayed this year because I wasn't sure I wanted to do it again this year. It's a lot of work for me and my body usually suffers for it. So I asked God what He wanted me to do. He answered by getting people to donate most of the things I need to do this! I told no one of this and God just moved through those who were open and praying. God is amazing. And yes, I may have thrown some of my own money in to bless someone. But I took a step of faith. Anyone that knows me knows I too am very thin on finances. But I believe God's word that say when we give it shall be given to us, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto our bossom. It works, that's all I know! I get so blessed whenever I do these things too. I reap what I sow. He desires to use us to show the world His love and generosity. It's time for the church to get their eyes off self and see who they can bless not only in this season, but every day that we are here. Let's get off our pity pots and open up our hearts to touch someone's life. That's what Jesus did. That's what we're supposed to do.

Another thing, if you have become cold or lukewarm, I would really urge you to get back on track and really seek God and His Word. Keep digging for that pearl of great price. You will be amazed at the wisdom and knowledge that God will bless you with. But more than that, you will be changed more and more into the image of Christ. Yes, He will empower us through His Spirit but also through His word. He's just looking for a willing and hungry heart. How hungry are we? Have we sold all that we have for that Pearl of great price? Many of us haven't. Many are sitting on a fence or becoming like the rest of the world. Many do not bother going to church, many do not bother reading or studying God's word, many don't even take time for prayer and communicating with God. We need to stop and realize how blessed we are to have all these things! I would love to do what the disciples did and leave an impact on this world by allowing them to experience Jesus through me! Wouldn't you? Become His hands, His mouth, His feet, His eyes, and everything else...surrender fully to Him and grasp a hold of that Pearl of great price. You'll be so glad you did. When we see the beauty of Jesus all things of this world fades away. Let's get to it! Just one more point...if God puts something on your heart to do...just do it! Obey! God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could
