Matthew 3:2 (AMP)

Tithing in the Kingdom of God is crucial to receiving the blessings of God in these last days, even in your Now season, or your seasons to come! The world's system is failing and the Children of God must learn how to trust God to meet their EVER needs, and Tithing is one of the most important gateway to His provision and protection. As you establish yourself in the Kingdom of God and His way of doing things, you will discover how to trust in a higher system that never fails.
A. To be successful in the Kingdom of God you will have to think differently.
1. Most people have been trained in the world's system from the time they were born. They have learned to trust in what they can see, the education they have and the knowledge of other people in their lives.
2. But when a person becomes born-again, he or she has the opportunity to learn a higher system—the Kingdom of God.
3. The Kingdom of God is simply God's way of doing things.
4. The Kingdom of God is based on faith in the All-knowing power of God.
5. John the Baptist preached about the nearness of God's Kingdom and the need for Real Repentance (Matthew 3:2, AMP).
a. According to The Amplified Bible, repentance means to Think Differently or to change your mind (v. 2).
b. To be successful in the Kingdom of God, you must trust God's way of doing things and abandon all trust in the World's System!
B. The importance of tithing in the Kingdom of God.
1. The tithe is the key to unlocking God's blessings.
2. The Bible says that whatever was written in the Old Testament was established for our learning (Romans 15:4). Even though tithing is not mentioned in the five gospels of the Bible, it is discussed in the Old Testament.
3. God gave Adam and Eve permission to eat from all of the trees in the Garden of Eden except the tree of the "knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:16-17).
4. God wanted Adam and Eve to love Him enough to obey His instructions, but they let satan deceived them into thinking that God was keeping His blessings from them. As a result, they disobeyed God and sin entered the world.
C. Tithing and the blessing of God.
1. God promised Abraham great blessings (Genesis 12:1-2).
a. The blessing is God's supernatural ability applied to your natural abilities.
b. The blessing of God is the foundation to obtaining total-life prosperity.
i. Financial prosperity, healing and complete deliverance out of any circumstance, are the result of the blessing flowing in your life for others!
ii. A leaf blows as a result of the wind. Likewise, the promises of God are the results of His blessing in your life, from your obedience of His Word for your life!
iii. The blessing of God is the fishing line that brings what you need into your life, making Opportunities for you to be blessed so you can be a blessing!
2. Believers are entitled to the blessings of Abraham (Galatians 3:29).
3. You gain access to the blessing of God through your tithe.
a. Abraham gave the tithe to the high priest Melchizedek and received God's blessing (Genesis 14:18-23).
i. God did not command Abraham to tithe, but Abraham wanted to honor God through giving.
ii. Abraham released the tithe and Melchizedek released the blessing of God.
iii. The blessing gives you the empowerment to get more than you've given.
D. The two systems of tithing.
1. Tithing and the Abrahamic covenant.
a. God established a covenant with Abraham after the tithe was given (Genesis 17:7).
b. Jacob established this covenant in his life when he vowed to give tithes to God (Genesis 28:22).
2. Tithing and the Levitical law.
a. God commanded the children of Israel to tithe in the Old Testament (Leviticus 27:30-32; Deuteronomy 14:22-23).
b. Jesus was made a high priest after the order of Melchizedek under the through the Abrahamic covenant. (Hebrews 6:20).
c. you honor God with your Tithe and Offerings, showing The Father that you understand through Jesus, Jesus is why your blessed when, just like Abraham your father (Hebrews 7:16).
d. God wants you to tithe out of your love for Him, He even tells you to try Him and see!
e. It is through the law of love that the blessing of God will work in the life of a Believer (Matthew 22:37-38).

Tithing The Key to Kingdom Empowerment Part 2

Intro
God has set before every human being the right to choose. You can choose life or death, blessing or cursing, God's way of doing things or the world's way. Tithing does not make sense to the world, but it is God's way of connecting His people to the blessing.
A. You have the right to choose (Deuteronomy 30:19, 20, AMP).
1. Life is a series of decisions.
a. Each day you can choose the blessing of God or the curse.
b. You can go the way of the world or follow the Kingdom of God.
c. Choose the Kingdom of God and receive His best.
d. Choose God's way by loving Him and obeying His Word.
B. Kingdom empowerment is gained through tithing.
1. Ten percent of all your increase belongs to God (Leviticus 27:30).
2. Tithing is the way to maintain the flow of God's blessings and remain established in peace.
a. Peace or shalom is having security in the midst of turmoil.
b. Shalom is Hebrew for peace, prosperity and continuous well-being.
3. God promised to bless Abraham because of his obedience (Genesis 12:1-4).
a. The blessing is an empowerment from God that enables you to have success in every arena of life.
i. The blessing is not the car, house, money, etc.; these things are the result of the blessing.
ii. The blessing gives you supernatural ability to overcome negative circumstances.
b. Obedience gives birth to the blessing.
i. Partial obedience and delayed obedience are still disobedience.
ii. Abraham obeyed God and became very wealthy (Genesis 12:4, 13:1, 2).
c. The blessing of God gives birth to success.
C. The blessing became permanently established in Abram's life when he presented tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:19, 20).
1. Abraham gave Melchizedek all the tithes from what he had won in battle (Genesis 14:20).
2. Jacob, Abraham's grandson made a vow to God to tithe, and God established him in His blessing (Genesis 28:18-22, AMP).
a. God remembered the vow Jacob made and reminded him of it (Genesis 31:13).
D. God blessed mankind by speaking words of blessing (Genesis 1:22, 28).
1. Adam and Eve disconnected from God's blessing when they sinned in the Garden of Eden.
2. Sin blocked the blessing until Noah's time.
3. God pronounced the blessing again upon Noah and his sons (Genesis 9:1).
a. However, sin entered again when Noah became drunk, was naked, and his son Ham did not cover him.
4. God blessed Noah's sons, Shem and Japheth, who covered their father (Genesis 9:26, AMP).
5. Melchizedek very well could have been Shem because he passed the blessing to Abraham (Genesis 14:18, 19).
a. The priest had to have the blessing in order to pass it to someone else.
b. The blessing was passed down through the generations, from Abraham to Jesus.
E. Jesus made it possible for all of us to partake in the blessing (Galatians 3:13, 14).
1. Jesus is our High Priest forever, therefore when you tithe, you tithe to Him.
2. Like Abraham brought his tithe to Melchizedek, we pay our tithes to Jesus and receive the blessing (Hebrews 6:20- 7:16, AMP).
3. When you pay your tithes, present them to Jesus and experience the blessing exchange.

What Happens When You Tithe Part 3

Intro
When you bring your tithes to church, we should expect a blessing or an empowerment from God! He has promised to bless us abundantly when we obey Him! However, we should not expect money to fall from the sky! Lol, Instead, our tithe causes God to release an anointing or a supernatural ability upon your lives in such abundance, it is referred to as rain. When you do it from love, not because you want something from God!
A. God promised Abraham that He would bless him (Genesis 12:1-3).
1. Abraham had to make the choice to obey God; likewise, we have the right to choose (Deuteronomy 30:19, 20).
a. When we choose to obey Him, we choose His blessings; when we choose to disobey, we choose curses.
2. Abraham became entrenched in the blessing after he brought his tithe to his high priest.
a. Abraham gave the tenth of all of his income, not a part like some like to do now all!
b. God told Melchizedek to pronounced the blessing on Abraham life in the earth (Genesis 14:19, 20).
3. This also happens today when we bring our tithe to our high priest, or to a church of chose.
a. Jesus has the rank of Melchizedek; we bring our tithe to Him as our high priest (Hebrews 6:20).
b. Jesus releases the blessing on us, when we obey His word!
c. There was once a commandment to tithe, but today, we bring our tithes because we love God (Hebrews 7:1-15).
4. When you bring your tithe to your church, you are bringing the tithe to Jesus; therefore, you receive the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13, 14).
B. What can you expect when you tithe?
1. The windows of Heaven will open (Malachi 3:10).
a. When the phrase, windows of Heaven is mentioned first, it referred to rain (Genesis 7:11, 12; Genesis 9:11).
b. In the Hebrew, the phrase windows of Heaven are translated as floodgates.
c. When you tithe, the blessing comes in a flood proportion.
i. Rain is a type of anointing.
ii. A former and latter rain has been prophesied (Zechariah 10:1).
iii. The time before Pentecost represents the former rain; the time afterward is the latter rain.
iv. God gave the former rain according to righteousness (Joel 2:23-26).
d. We are in the time of the latter rain!
2. When the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jesus, the Spirit of wisdom and power came on Him (Isaiah 11:1, 2).
3. When the wisdom of God comes on you, you will always know what to do.
a. Prosperity is tied to the wisdom of God!
b. The tithe will cause you to have divine direction and the ability to pursue that direction!
c. When we tithe, God rebukes the devourer for our sake (Malachi 3:11, 12); we become a delightsome land in Christ!
He put this so you will now why to be obedient in this area so He can then release the things you need to fulfill the purpose He put in your heart! My Father blesses you according to your realness with Him and His Word on this Earth! God love you and He just whetting on

The Tithing Question Part 4

Intro
Why do we do what we do? As Christians, we live according to the Kingdom of God. In His Kingdom, tithing is a way of life. Tithing is how we honor God and activate His blessing on our lives. Life is a series of choices. We choose to operate in the blessings of God or the curses of the world. Tithing is your blessing connection.
A. As a Christian, am I to tithe?
1. Our hope and expectation comes as a result of studying and learning the Word written in the former days (Romans 15:4, AMP).
a. We see a representation of tithing even as far back as the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:16, 17).
i. God told Adam that he could eat of any tree except one because it belonged to Him.
ii. Likewise, a portion of all of our income belongs to God (Leviticus 27:30-32). iii. Tithe means tenth; 10 percent of our income belongs to God.
2. Abram brought his tithe to Melchizedek, his high priest.
a. Out of gratitude, Abram brought his tithe to the high priest and Melchizedek pronounced God's blessing on him (Genesis 14:18-23).
i. God honors a vow to tithe the same as the tithe itself (Genesis 28:18-22).
b. When you bring your tithe to church, you are bringing the tithe to Jesus, your high priest.
c. Jesus then extends the blessing to you just as Melchizedek did for Abram.
d. The blessing that comes from tithing leads you on a path to success; sin, and a refusal to walk in love, block the blessing of God.
B. Under the old covenant, there was a law to tithe (Deuteronomy 14:22-29).
1. Jesus came to fulfill the law, not destroy it (Matthew 5:17-20).
2. Love is like a curtain rod upon which everything hangs (Matthew 22:34-40).
a. Every law and prophetic word hangs on the law of love.
3. Love meets the old covenant requirements and fulfills the law (Romans 13:10).
C. God wants our love for Him to move us to tithe.
1. Abram tithed because of His love and gratitude toward God, not out of obligation.
2. You should see tithing as an opportunity to show God your love and gratitude.
3. Jesus did not command tithing because the love law incorporated tithing.
a. Love God so much that tithing becomes automatic for you.

Sister Ann,

As I said before, you must read 2Chron. 29 and see that there wasn't any Levitical Priest in the temple because the doors were blocked and closed off. In 2 Chron 31, Hezekiah had to put the Levites back into thier place to receive ANY TITHES OR OFFERINGS. If you want to play word games.... YOU WILL PLAY THEM OWN YOUR OWN. But the point of the matter is is that tithing was never MONEY and we have to obey the word of God CORRECTLY.

I truly love your passion for the word, but as I said before.... when you corrct someone you must be correct. And your not. Hezekiah had to reastablish tithing because of 2 Chron. 29.

God Bless

Bro Lonnie:
I hate to be labor this subject, but accuracy is essential in quoting the scriptures. We must not misquote scripture that the Holy Spirit has inspired. This is what you have done.

You stated: " 2 Chron 31: the entire chapt. It tells you of how Hezekiah had to start the people of God to tithe again because there was no temple or *Levitical priest* to take it."

I repeat, reread the text you provided again, and read commentaries on this if needed and study the laws regarding tithing again.

In this text, YOU said that there was *NO temple* and *NO Priests and Levites*.

2 Chron 31:2 states"

"Hezekiah assigned the *****priests and Levites***** to divisions—each of them according to their duties as *priests or Levites)—to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, [a] to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the LORD's dwelling."

Your statement that there was "no temple" makes it appear that the temple had been destroyed. That there was a functioning temple is evident since that is where they did the "burnt and fellowship" offerings mentioned in the text.

Clearly the priests and Levites were present in the temple, since the text mentions "priests and Levites" making the burnt offering.

Also if the temple wasn't standing, the Priests and Levites did not only receive tithes at the Temple, they could receive it in the towns where they lived, so a functioning temple was not always necessesary. Note the text below:

Deut.26
[12] When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled

If you still can't see where your err, saying that there was no temple or priests or Levites, when the scripture plainly shows differently, we can discuss it off this blog.

The temple and the Priests and Levites may not have been functioning as they normally would, but for you to say there was no temple or no priests and Levites is misquoting scripture in 2 Chron 31.

Sister Ann,

As I said before....Tithing had to be reastablished twice becuase the wasn't a temple to take it to or any Levitical priest to receive it. The Levitical priest were the only ones according to scripture and not Man's Laws who could receive a Tithe.

Greeting,

this is to sister Ann, Please learn your text before you quote anything... If you go the 2Chron. 29: the entire chapter, but I will quote it the you since the text I gave was erroneous:

vs 2: And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father David had done.
vs 3: In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and reapaired them. ( temple doors was shout by the previous king)
vs 4: The he brought in the priest and the Levites, and gathered them in the East square.
vs and said to them " Hera me Levites! Now santify yourselves, santify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the Holy place."

The is where Hezekiah started putting the Levitical priest in place in the temple. THE TEMPLE WAS CLOSED. The levitical priest were only working in the temple.

Furthermore Sister Ann, I'm not a person that argue the scriptures....But you need to learn HOW TO READ. Chapt. 30 is talking about Passover...but that's why I didn't give that scripture. However, Passover ended in Chapt. 30. Go to Chapt 31:1 and I qoute" Now when all this was FINISHED, all Isreal who were present went out to the cities od Judah and broke the pillars in pieses, cut down the wooden images, and threw down the high places and altars-from all Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh-until the utterly destroyed them all. THEN ALL THE CHILDREN OF ISREAL RETURNED TO THEIR OWN CITIES, EVERY MAN TO HIS POSSESSION. But before you correct someone make sure YOU know the scriptures.

God Bless

A BRIEF HISTORY OF TITHING AFTER CHRIST’S CRUCIFIXION

by Dr. Fillmer Hevener

For several hundred years after Christ’s death, churches were not institutions with large buildings or paid leaders supported by the members. Instead, the churches were similar to modern-day home groups. They met in homes with leaders who supported themselves through such labor as carpentry, fishing, farming, etc. Therefore, the early church groups had few expenses. The vast majority of the funds given could be used for missionary purposes, for spreading the gospel at home and in distant places.

The Apostle Paul, a tentmaker, notes that although he had the right to receive support from the congregation, he refused to accept this support. Why, because he did not want to take money from mission needs and because he did not want anyone suspecting that he was preaching the gospel out of a desire for money. (1 Cor. 9.) He did not wish to hinder the spreading of the gospel of salvation through Christ. The churches did frequently support widows, the poor, and orphans. (1Tim. 5.) Paul did at times accept gratuities from friends (food, shelter, and friendship). Paul, being of the tribe of Benjamin, could not have legally accepted tithe; only the Levites could have done this.

THE CHURCH CONTINUED WITH THIS VOLUNTARY APPROACH TO GIVING AND TO THE SUPPORT OF THE CHURCH FOR OVER 300 YEARS.

In the fourth century, the Roman Emperor, Constantine, converted to Christianity. He is credited with bringing status to Christianity and with starting the first large church building program. (Note: he is also credited with instituting the first Sunday law in 321; his edict required the people to rest on the “venerable day of the sun.”) Constantine wanted the church to have impressive buildings that would honor his name and his contributions to the church. Consequently, the church groups moved out of homes and into finer buildings and began employing full-time ministers. Therefore, there was a need to support these buildings and these salaried bishops. The New Catholic Encyclopedia summarizes the situation:

“The early Christian church had no tithing system. However, as the church’s material needs grew because of its vast building program and paying of bishops, it adopted the pre-cross, Ceremonial Law-method of support, tithing. Therefore, “the Council of Macon in 585, ordered the payment of tithes and threatened excommunication to those who refused to comply.”

From the sixth century forward, tithing was adopted by the Catholic Church and later accepted into many protestant churches from the 1500’s onward.

The Encyclopedia Brittanica notes: “Despite serious resistance, tithing became obligatory as Christianity spread across Europe….It was enjoined by ecclesiastical law from the sixth century….” In the 14th century, Pope Gregory VII, outlawed …lay ownership of tithes.” In other words, Pope Gregory VII, concluded that only paid clergy could receive and direct the use of tithe, not lay, unpaid, Christians. (Note: A similar position is taken by E. G. White when she states that the tithe is to be used for ministers, only. Testimonies, Vol. 9, 248-249. This position is contrary to Deut. 14, which teaches that tithe was, among other things, to be used for strangers (refugees), orphans, and widows.) The following statement is made by the Archdiocese of St. Louis: “TITHING IS ABSOLUTELY STILL NECESSARY IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TODAY. (See their: Office of Stewardship and Development statement on the www.)

In 765, the Carolingian King Pepin III (the Short) sent a letter to all bishops making the payment of tithe by each individual to his parish church a legal obligation. Also, everyone was forced to tithe 800 years after Christ when Charlemagne founded the Holy Roman Empire, blending church and state and making tithing a state law.

Unfortunately, when the Protestant reformers of the 1500’s broke with the Catholic Church over such issues as “salvation by grace, rather than by works,” they did not reject the spurious Sabbath, Sunday, nor the Ceremonial Law’s practice of tithing. These reformers could have had much greater credibility if they had adopted the post-cross method of support of the church through free-will giving. See: Matthew 10:8; Luke 6:38; Acts 20:35; II Cor. 9: 6-7; I Tim. 5:8.

In summary, this is what we know:

1. Tithing was a part of the OT law, involving payment to the priests, widows and orphans.

2. The early Christian church was supported by free-will giving for at least 300 years.

3. Tithing first came into the Christian church when Constantine was converted; he needed money for fine buildings and for bishops’ salaries.

4. The Catholic Church made tithing a law nearly six centuries after Christ’s crucifixion.

5. Some 800 years after Christ, Charlemagne required the paying of tithe under the penalty of imprisonment.

6. Priests cursed for their tithe, telling those who didn’t tithe that they would lose their salvation and go to hell.

7. In the 1500’s, Protestant churches preached “salvation by grace,” but they continued to preach and practice tithing and the false Sabbath, Sunday.

Friend, reject erroneous traditions! Prepare for eternity by accepting Christ as your Savior and by following His teachings in Holy Scripture, the Bible.

May our Lord bless and keep each of you!

Bro Lonnie, I read the chapter you suggested and posted your message below where you told this blog that there was no temple or Levitical priesthood:

You said:

"2Chron 31: the entire chapt. It tells you of how Hezekiah had to start the people of God to tithe again because there was no temple or Levitical priest to take it"
~~~~~~~~~
Please read the chapter before and the chapter you submitted as evidence from me, and you will see that your position is not true. Both in 2 Chron. 30 & 31 BOTH the Levites and priests were mentioned as present during that time.
2 Chronicles 30
Hezekiah Celebrates the Passover Feast
1 Hezekiah sent a message to all of the people of Israel and Judah. He also wrote letters to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. He invited everyone to come to the Lord's temple in Jerusalem. He wanted them to celebrate the Passover Feast in honor of the Lord. He is the God of Israel.
2 The king, his officials and the whole community in Jerusalem decided to celebrate the Passover in the second month.
3 They hadn't been able to celebrate it at the regular time.
That's because ***there weren't enough priests**** who had set themselves apart to the Lord. Also, the people hadn't gathered together in Jerusalem.
~~~~~~~~~
2 Chron 31:4

4 Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to contribute
***support for the priests and the Levites,*** that they might devote themselves to the Law of the LORD.

So, Lonnie, please retract your erroneous statement...
