A time and a place?
Is it irritating to anyone else here, when you ask one a particular question, and they answer by quoting scripture, ONLY?

I agree. It is most irritating when you get PAGES of scriptures.

I totally agree that the Bible is the final and only authority; but is it really necessary to list 15 to 20 scriptures in response to every question?

I don't think so, sometimes the answer is really simple, and you lose one with all the cross references, t's like someone asking what do you do when you are hungry? the answer is you feed yourself, it's not the time to give a recipe for roast beef.

No one is disputing that Prophetess, but isn't there a time when you can carry on a conversation as Jesus did with his disciples?

I would say if you consider the scripture irritating then yes, but if the scripture presented answers your particular question then I don't see what the problem is.

It is not that the scripture is irritating Min. it is when the only answer that one can give is scripture, we are overcomers through our testimonies, can one not simply share how God brought them through? Not that God will bring the other through the same way, but that HE will bring them through.
Maybe it's just a gift in ministering to people?

I see what you are saying, but I think it depends on the question being asked. If the question requires testimony then give your testimony, but if it is a simple question that is easily answered with a bible verse or two then I personally wouldn't be irritated by that. God Bless.

With all due respect Min. Jackson, the scriptures themselves do not irritate me, it's just the act of listing so many cross-references to address a question that could very well be answered with or without scriptures if one understands the full context of the question. For example, if I were to ask you for the name of the church where you go to worship, would you think it necessary to respond with the full history of the church and all the names of its members?
I hope I didn't offend you with my reply; I am simply trying to make a point.
