No longer under the law

1 Corinthians 9:20
To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.

To the Jews I became as a Jew - Conforming myself in all things to their manner of thinking and living, so far as; I could with innocence. To them that are under the law - Who apprehend themselves to be still bound by the Mosaic law. As under the law - Observing it myself, while I am among them. Not that he declared this to be necessary, or refused to converse with those who did not observe it. This was the very thing which he condemned in St. Peter, Gal 2:14.

 

count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

 

15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

 

Galatians 4

21Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise.

24These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27

 

Romans 8:3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

 

Hebrews 7:19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

 

17Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and brag about your relationship to God; 18if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23You who brag about the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

Christ kept the Law perfectly for all who believe on him..he did it for us...and set us free from the law of sin and death...praise God

Now, what was your point with the Corinthians post? Are you inferring that I think spiritual things are foolish? On the contrary.. I follow the Bible as it is written.. I am only trying to show people the error in their understanding of the scriptures... This is why I do what I do..

LAW: Isaiah 28: 9-11 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

TESTIMONY: 2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

LAW:Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

God said it, that settles it...you don't need an interpreter. God say what He say and that settles it. The Word of God is posted, but then you come back with scripture as though you want to contradict Gods Word. It is plain to those who believe. Amen

You are not God who giveth understanding...that is the mistake you make my brother. Study to show yourself approved...dividing the Word of God in truth. Live your life unto God, serve God, Worship God, get close to God, Love God...not make man understand Gods Word...that is His job. We are to ask God for understanding...He WILL reveal His Word to whosoever seek Him. Ask and it SHALL be given...not through man, because man have a limited understanding....Let God be God and we serve and love Him and love one another...Amen.

There is NOTHING new under the sun. In God's WORD there is an answer to everything and as you study God will reveal His truths. I have said it time and time again to you, but you insist on me believing your explanation of the Word of God...when it clearly tells me that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God.
I read from the KJV...now I don't need to add anything as I read what thus saith the Lord. I JUST SAY YES LORD.

And Also Bro. Preacher I was responding to Bro. Israel with that post, but this is in response to your post to me. I don't doubt either of you and your credentials as to your ministries. I'm just saying that confusion comes in when you have 2 or more NOT in agreement and God is not in confusion. So then, if we all read God's Word without any adlibbing then we ALL would be on one accord, because God would have it not other way. As He told His diciples above Teach what HE taught them and I BELIEVE the scriptures and that they wrote the things as what they were taught and heard from God and not what they believed He was saying, but WHAT HE SAID.

Amen....I am not under the law, because I was set free by the blood of Jesus, but when I do trangress from the law and fall into sin, I have an advocate who shed His blood so that I am forgiven when I humble myself and confess my sin and turn away from that which befall me. And I thank God, that He saved me. Only by His grace...only by His grace. That is why I love Him so.
