Men and women of God I would like to know do you think that gambling is alright in
the eye's of the Lord. Lately I have been hearing the debates about is it a sin to gamble or to play lotto. People are having conversations about what's wrong with playing lotto and gambling. Some are saying it doesn't say in the bible that gambling is a sin,now to me I feel like it's wrong and I want to be able to help my brothers and sisters that are looking for answers to what's wrong with gambling or playing lotto. So brothers and sisters of God I would like to know what you think and feel about this topic. And I 'm asking all of you to pray for me that God will show me the answers so that I can be able to help my brothers and sisters to know what's wrong with it.

Gambling, lottos and raffles are all games of chance and God doesn't work on a chance but only BY FAITH!
When a person gambles, they're saying in front of God, "forget you God, I don't need you to do nothing for me." Christians should not gamble or take games of chance but we have some who do.

And when a person gambles it's hard to kick the habit like drugs and alcohol.
And so that's what's I think about that.
Hi dear brother!

A true Christian must work to earn his/her life.

He/she should not have the mentality(mindset) of the EASY PROFIT. No! I say no!

Indeed, GOD said to Adam “…By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food…”

Genesis 3:19

Brother Paul said:

“For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

2 Thessalonians 3:10

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Hebrews 13:5

We must search money which one needs to live with and which one gets by his work, trusting God who promised to provide for all our needs.

The normal means to gain money is our work (an honest work in which there is no cheating, no lie, and theft)

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

Matthew 6:24-26

Brother Paul said again:

“And in fact, you do love all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more. Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."

1 Thessalonians 4:10-12

Unfortunately, the spirit of the world influences certain Christians who for various reasons try to gain money through gambling.

Because of this passion some people were ruined, deeply involved in debt and they put in danger their life and that of their family.

However, the Lord promised to take care of us and to provide for all our needs and he asks us to trust Him (1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6 ).

In conclusion, the biblical principle is that Man must gain his bread (earn his life) by his work, to not only survive, but also to give to others (Genesis 3:19; Ephesians. 4:28;
1 Thessalonians 4:10 - 12; 2 Thessalonians 3:10 – 12).

Moreover, the believer is guided by the Holy Spirit, and not by the chance.

These instructions from the Word of God deal with the attitude of the Christians towards the games of chance.

We must pay attention to the temptations (traps) which the devil can so skilfully place in front of us.

Blessings,

Bro. Germain
