Which Jesus/Yeshua Christ/YHWH are you following?

I was just reading a book entitled, “Jesus of Suburbia” … in this book the author goes to great lengths to make the contrast between the Jesus/Yeshua of Nazareth vs. the Jesus/Yeshua of the Suburbs… I have to agree with the author, Christianity is split on the Person and Work of Jesus/Yeshua Christ/YHWH… many have an distorted view and understanding of Jesus/Yeshua Christ/YHWH of Nazareth… like Judas, many thought/thinke He came to over power the social, economical and political world structures… for many they preach and follow a Jesus/Yeshua that’s similar to a catastrophic Santa Claus… that’s the Jesus/Yeshua of Suburbia… Whereas, the Jesus/Yeshua of Nazareth never promised His followers world riches, fame, social or economic structure… but He did promise His followers a cross, a crown, and eternity with Him...

Which Jesus/Yeshua Christ/YHWH are you teaching, preaching, and following?

My brother if you are serious about what you just said. I pray YHWH open your heart and eyes so you may be able to recieve the truth you will find if,you really desires the truth. Go to www.omniglot.com research the Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin alphabet and language. See when the letter(J) was added, how it comes from modern Latin alphabet, but isn't there in any other alphabet or language. I've been where you are, hopefully you will move forward in your study , which will prove itself to be true.We remain ignorant to knowledge without study and seek the Father as we study. Grace& Peace To You Shalom
Sister Tonya, if you are married, or have ever been married, I'm sure that in your intimate moments you want your husband to call you YOUR name, not some woman's name that is close to it, or totally foreign to it, and I'm sure your husband would be disturbed if he were called another man's name.

Please check the following link and see just how many times the name YHWH is used in our Bibles, which was mistranslated by the European and other translators:

YHWH

Yah
http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H30...

as- in Ps. 68:4 - His name was left intranslated

Psa 68:4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

Hallelujah is another word that is purely Hebrew but no one objects to using that word, meaning

Praise Ye Yah!

I've used it for a couple of years now. No matter which translation of the bible you use, it is still a translation. (which is a point many rightfully express here)

My friend, you could spend HOURS on that site eating at a transliteration buffet!!! LOL

yes indeedy!! (smile)
Unfortunately I'm misunderstood as one who only wants knowledge for the sake of knowledge or maybe even hidden Gnosticism. Far from it. But I get what you are saying and all I can reply is...

Amen and Amen.
this is one of the reasons why I researched the name given to me at birth... I researched the meanings of my first name Tracy and my maiden name (surname) Thompson. Unknown to my mom.. my name became a fulfilled prophecy of sorts.

However, at least she didnt give me a name like B'quisha or the like. I don't think I would be able to find a clear definition nor explanation of such a name.

thanks for the info.. Yah's prophet gave me some homework to do....
All:
Let's move on from opinion and let's see what the Bible scholars say about Messiah's name:

Yahshua is the true name of the Messiah

(Note that Joshua = Yoshua or Yahshua because there is no "J" sound in Hebrew. The letter "J" is only about 500 years old and isn't even found in the original 1611 King James version.)

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the Messiah's name never was "Jesus" and that the name "Jesus" is actually an invention of man.

In the King James Version of the scriptures, we find an interesting problem in its translation:

Acts 7:44(KJV) Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. 45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

Isn't this scripture referring to Joshua, son of Nun rather than the Savior? Yes. Here is another instance...

Hebr 4:7 (KJV) Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Again, the context reveals that this scripture is referring to Joshua, the son of Nun and not the Messiah. All other translations put "Joshua" here. Why then is it translated 'Jesus'? The answer lies in the Greek/Latin corruption of the Messiah's original Hebrew name. Originally, the name of the Messiah was , pronounced Yahshua. This is the Messiah's original name. When the Gentiles tried to transliterate His name into Greek, they came up with ihsoun or "Iesous". But originally, this word was from #3091 in the Hebrew which is . When Iesous was transliterated into Latin, it became "Iesus", which was then carried over into English it became our modern day "Jesus" when the letter "J" developed.

Therefore, the reason the King James Version has "Jesus" in those two verses is because the Messiah's name is actually the same name as Joshua, Son of Nun... correctly pronounced "Yahshua". It is quite evident that the modern form "Jesus" doesn't even remotely resemble the original name that the disciples were praying in, baptizing in and receiving so much criticism for preaching in. This is fact. Do some research and see for yourself.

"His name is Jesus: The name Jesus is the same as Saviour. It is derived from the verb signifying to save. In Hebrew it is the same as Joshua. In two places [Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8] in the New Testament it is used where is means Joshua, the leader of the Jews into Canaan, and in our translation the name Joshua should have been retained."

Interpreter's Bible: (Note on Matt. 1:21)
"Jesus: for He shall save: The play on words (Yeshua, Jesus; yoshia, shall save) is possible in Hebrew but not in Aramaic. The name Joshua means "Yahweh is salvation"

Matthew Henry's Commentary
(on Matthew 1:21)
"Jesus is the same name with Joshua, the termination only being changed, for the sake of conforming it to the greek."

Conclusion

It can be concluded then, that "Jesus" was not the Messiah's name when He walked the earth. That no one ever called him Jesus during his lifetime. They would have called him Yahshua.

Jesus was a name invented by man, only in use since the 1500s A.D. Therefore since we know the original name, Yahshua, which the Angel gave to Hebrew mother from His Father in heaven, why should we use the name Jesus, when we know the His true inspired divine name?

P.S.: Do you all realize that Satan's name is the same in Hebrew and English.....hmmmm
Let's see,

Heresy #1 - ARIANISM.... The Honorary Mention

The belief that the Word (Logos) who assumed flesh in Jesus Christ (John 1:14) was not the true God and that he had an
entirely different nature, neither eternal nor omnipotent.” The claim that because God was one immutable substance He could not share His essence with another being. in this case, the person that Christians call Christ. So, Christ, therefore was not God, he was a created being, albeit, created from nothing and before all other created things. Christ is given the
honorific title Son of God in light of his role in redemption and his adoption by the Father. Yeah... He made it to the Honoary mention list...!!! (eyebrow raised)

Heresy #2 - PATRIPASSIANISM -- Why is the Father talking to Himself all the time?

This is the heretical teaching that it was the Father who became incarnate, was born of a virgin, and who suffered and died on the cross.” Therefore, it was the Father who suffered on the cross as the Son but wasn't really the Son but was the Father calling Himself the Son who was only begotten of Himself. Confused??? Well so are they.

This could easily be believable until you read the Father addressing the Son and the Son addressing the Father

Ok wait... so these two heretical thoughts contradict one another... If the Son is not God but mere man who so pleased the Father that he gained honorary mention but the other says it was the Father who was the Son... the two thoughts cancel each other out.

Question for both heretical positions:

Does the Elohim sit next to Himself? Is He seated at the right hand of himself. Does He go to Himself? Is He interceding on our behalf with HImself?

Mark 16:19 : Ps 110:1; Luke 22:69; Acts 7:55; Rom 8:34; Eph 1:20; Col 3:1; Heb 1:3; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2; 1 Pet 3:22

Does He make comments about pleasing Himself with Himself? No wait, He wasn't talking about Himself, He was talking about the mere human whom He gave honorary mention.....

2 Peter 1:17
For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased"--

Which would also mean He was speaking to Himself when dying on the cross asking Himself why He was forsaking Himself as well as the many times He was calling Himself "Father" and referring to Himself as the only begotten Son of Himself.

These depictions is kind of a schizophrenic representation of the One whom we so vehemently worship.

I am open to learning about my Hebraic heritage but not to the point of accepting heresy.
The great point are exactly destroying your trinity doctrine. If he is one then he would not have to ask his father he is greater than the son why is he forsaking him?
Hi dear sister Tracy,

YAHSHUA (JESUS) PRE-EXISTED AS YAHWEH, ELOHIM OF ISRAEL

This is not an erroneous view, this not heresy but the Truth according to the Holy Scriptures!

AMEN!

I believe it’s hard for many to understand the true teachings of God/YHWH because of the translations of Bibles in which they study. Many pious men in their innocence have translated the Bible into their own language with error.
Many are unaware and therefore unequipped because of their lack in understanding what the Bible says in its original language “Hebrew”. A brief history as time won’t allow me to break this down;

The people of God under the Old Covenant spoke Hebrew, and God moved His chosen men to write His Word in the Old Testament in Hebrew (and, in a very few verses, Aramaic). For many centuries this was sufficient for His people; they could read the Law and teach it to their children as the Lord commanded (Deuteronomy 6). The ancient language of the Patriarchs served the people well, and they continued to use it to their advantage for many centuries. But their sin changed this. The people abandoned the God of their Scriptures and served idols; they failed to keep the Sabbaths as commanded in the Law. In order to punish the people, bring them back to the Lord and give the land its Sabbath rest (2 Chronicles 36.21), the Lord sent the people into exile, into the lands of the heathen Assyrians and Babylonians. The northern tribes of Israel never returned, and only a remnant of the southern tribes of Judah was restored to the land.

Judah's seventy years of exile brought about numerous changes amongst the people. No longer did they abandon the true God and disobey His Law so overtly. But at the same time, they were no longer the separated Hebrew people they had once been. Many had taken foreign wives and sired children who were not taught the language of their fathers (Nehemiah 13.23, 24). Many chose to stay in the countries to which they had been exiled, where they lost the ability to read Hebrew.

Many are studying the text from a Hellenistic version produced by Alexander the Great. Between 336-324 BC, Alexander the Great, king of Macedon, conquered much of what was then the known world. In addition to being a great military conqueror, he was also a cultural conqueror, bringing with him into his new territories Greek culture and language. Alexandria, Egypt, became the seat of his Hellenistic culture. A considerable number of Jews, particularly those of Alexandria, accepted Greek as their language, with many never learning the language of their fathers. To Jews both outside of Israel and in, the Hebrew Scriptures had become a closed book.

For further clarification; Jerome for many years had translated the Old Testament from the Septuagint into Latin. In the latter part of the century, however, he recognized the differences between the Greek Septuagint and the Hebrew, and began making translations of the Hebrew books, primarily for the benefit and use of his friends. "Jerome was often criticized for using the Hebrew text rather than the Septuagint as the basis for his translation, but he rightly argued that the Septuagint was not inspired and that a better translation could be made from the Hebrew, the original language of the Old Testament." In time his translation, the Vulgate, grew in importance and became the accepted Latin version.

In many of our churches today, the Bibles are anti-Christian bias and with the warping of modern liberal and neo-orthodox theology. I encourage everybody to study, take lessons, classes on Hebrew language… (Orthodox not Hellenistic)… to better understand God’s Word…
Why is the vatican considered the source of Christianity? Do all Believers call themselves... Christians??? Do all follow Catholicism and consider it their source of "truth"?
