Blood Transfusions - Is it Ok for the Saints of God.

Warning: NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH

I am not a Jehovah's Witness but I was wondering if we are allowed by God to intake blood for health reasons then is taking placenta pills ok to ward off postpartum depression and increase milk supply? Some people pan fry them with onions and serve them up like liver and then some drink them as smoothies.

Now if the Lord has no problem with blood transfusions - would he have a problem with this? And just because we have the technology does that mean its OK to do?

Torah does not go against it at all.
Something tells me - the apostles would flip if someone said they were going to be cooking up some placenta for dinner.
Newview,

Where did that come from?
I see according to Leviticus 12 - this is apart of her uncleaness. It is not lawful to eat for health reasons.
New,

Lev 12 is about child birth. It speaks nothing about eating placentas.
Hah! I didnt say I found it in the bible that the holy apostles would flip - I said something tells me. So I am going to study up on this subject more.
And that something that tells me that its wrong - tells me - that not only is it wrong - I will find writings proving that it is.
Brother Pierce,

I notice that you do alot of 'Torah' referencing. Do you think that any of the New Testament teachings trump the teachings of the Old Testament?
New,

Not at all. The Old Testament can stand alone without the New Testament. The New Testament cannot stand alone without the Old Testament. We are to test all doctrines, teachings, etc, by Torah & The Prophets, just like the Bereans tested Paul's teachings by it.
Jaaaaaaaaaaaames what about wearing cotton and linen at the same time? Found in Leviticus
Evan,

Whatever Torah states concerning wool and linen together. Do it!
Ooooooooh wait a minute here, lol, be back James got go
Odd mixtures are here forbidden, Lev. 19:19.

There appears not any thing at all of moral evil in these things, and we now make no conscience of sowing wheat and rye together, ploughing with horses and oxen together, and of wearing linsey-woolsey garments; but here its forbidden.

Why?

1. A conformity to some idolatrous customs of the heathen.

2. That which is contrary to the plainness and purity of an Israelite. They must not gratify their own vanity and curiosity by putting those things together which the Creator in infinite wisdom had made asunder: they must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, nor mingle themselves with the unclean, as an ox with an ass.

Now my question, and it applies to the original question of the post how are we today suppose to monitor this.(the clothing makeup) What if the blood comes from a believer is that alright? and how are we to monitor that?

It's the mingling with the ungodly that is not good in the eyes of God, not the process of the blood transfusion.
