Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute
www.equip.org
The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

I am correct in my assumption that you believe the heresy of the Noetians, that is assuming the Father Himself is the Son?
Sister Caral,

I don't care about what you assume, think or declare. Feel free to insult me or do whatever you want.

However, all that I know is that Trinitarians are spiritually blind.

Their doctrine is really an I D O L A T R Y.

You may not agree with me, but you are blind!

I challenge you to refute my message above line by line.

Please, try it !

May God open your eyes, then something like scales will fall from your eyes, then you will see again.

I'm waiting for your insightful replies.

Blessings,

Bro. Germain
Good Point Well said Bro.Germain! In these Posts I have provided More Than Enough Scripture Indicating Who Is The One God That We Serve Without using the trinity. The Bible Is The Only Source of Truth. Some People and Churches Are AFRAID if you Find the Truth in the Bible You May CHANGE YOUR Religion therefore if you are just giving your opinion It's Pointless. Scriptures Declare There is but One God (Deut 6:4)and Not A three Person Triune God. I Just thank the Lord Jesus For His Precious Truth! There is No Need For Me To say anymore Scriptures on Who Jesus is,Otherwise It will be going in Circles!
God Bless You All, I am Praying For you To Study To Show thyself approved unto God That You Be Not Ashamed Rightly dividing the word of Truth.SEEK JESUS TODAY.
God Bless I 've Got Go Bye! LOVE IN CHRIST Della M.

1 Corinthians 2:8-10 (King James Version)

8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

AMEN!
Bro. Germain.

I apologise if you felt what I said was insulting to you, that was not my intention at all, I was just trying to get a fuller understanding of your position.

I think perhaps my use of the verncular was the issue, in using the word 'heresy'. This purely means an unorthodox doctrine that goes against the established belief system within religion, philosophy, politics or science, this most certainly not a cuss at you, and I apologise if my english terminology doesn't transfer quite so well across the Atlantic.

When I get a moment, I will fully peruse your above post, having glanced quickly over it, the scriptures are obviously perfect, and you have made a very good reasoned case, you acknowledge the divinty of Christ, and that Christ is fully human thus the two natures of Christ, there is maybe just one or two points that I will address.

Conversely my question of whether you believe that The Father is The Son, would help me immensely in understanding more fully your doctrine per se, but alas, I didn't receive a reply.

Be blessed

Caral
Trinity = Idolatry

That's all I can say!

Brother Anthony R. Watson,

I do not have my own theology. I do not have my own doctrine, but I'm "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone" (Ephesians 2: 20-22).

I teach only what the Bible teaches. In my message above, didn't I quote the Holy Bible from the beginning to the end?

Please, brother Anthony R. Watson, instead of providing information to sister Carla, read my message above and refute it in light of the Holy Bible.

Brother Anthony Watson, if you think that you truly hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, then encourage others by sound doctrine and refute my message above line by line according to Titus 1:9.

If the Bible is really your absolute, just do what I ask you to do!

I'm waiting for your insightful contribution!

May God enlighten you!!!

It is time for you to stop your false teachings on the Black Preaching Network!

Blessings,

Bro. Germain
AMEN AMEN BROTHER GERMAIN!!!! It's Not About Who's right or Who's Wrong It's all About The Bible! STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED BEING A WORKMAN THAT BE NOT ASHAMED RIGHTLY DIVING THE WORD OF GOD.
IS THE SCRIPTURE BELOW INCORRECT, AND IF SO, WHAT SHOULD BE DONE WITH IT?

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Thank you Anthony.

It is indeed most helpful, thanking you so much for taking the time to provide the above information, and the links. I am familiar with most classic heresies, as this is how sound doctrine is established, by answering heresies. I am particularly well versed in Arianism ;-)

I will read with the links with interest, Sabellianists taught that Jesus Christ and God the Father were not distinct persons, but two.aspects or offices of one person. According to them, the three persons of the Trinity exist only in God’s relation to man, not in objective reality.

I imagine that Oneness theology is possibly related to this, as in reality there are no new heresies, just the same old same, regurgitated and renamed.

Thanks again.
Anthony I see Your Saying What EW Said was Wrong about Acts 2:38. Can you Prove this In Scripture?? Or Are you Just Refuting the Fact That YOU CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS TO FIT YOUR DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY? MAtt 28:19 Says In THE NAME of Singular one Name.
And Since you Know the word so well Can You show me where in the new testament church was anyone ever Baptized by repeating the command Father,Son ,Holy Ghost?
I am waiting for a scriptural Answer. Thanks Love in Christ,Della Morton
ANTHONY,

SO YOUR ANSWER IS TO DELETE ALL SCRIPTURE THAT CONTRADICTS YOUR BELIEF.

IF A SCRIPTURE OPPOSES YOUR TRINITY DOCTRINE YOU IGNORE IT AND REFER FOLK BACK TO THE ONE SCRIPTURE THAT YOU HAVE.

GOD IS NOT PLEASED WITH THAT. I PROMISE YOU HE IS NOT. AT LEAST EXPLAIN WHY WE SHOULDN'T USE THAT SCRIPTURE (Acts 2:38) AFTER ALL YOU ARE THE THEOLOGIAN.

THERE IS NO EXPLANATION BECAUSE THERE IS NO REVELATION.
