I say no! All sin seperates us from a loving God. It was out of His love for us that he died on a cross and crucified all sin paying it's debt. Homosexuals are not hated by God and they are not hated by me. The sin they are in is no different than the sin that I struggle with day to day. Be careful about hate, it will eat you from the inside out. Love people, all people the way Christ loves you and me.

Sin is always death. The sin of homosexuals comes with horrible consequences. So does the sin of drunkeness and idolitry and so the list goes on and on. Jesus is the solution and the salvation for all men and for all sin. Thius may not be popular, but standing for Christ and resting in His word has never been the most popular thing to do. Love your neigbor is not a choice. Hate the sin love the sinner is what I have been told.

you answered your own question...the hypocrites of the church only target homosexuality as you so beautifully illustrated...i guess it's easier to focus on what you perceive to be wrong with someone than your own faults.

There r two types of sinning : by Ignorance and willfully.Num 15:27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
Num 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
Num 15:29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
Num 15:30 But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Num 15:31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. Notice the person that sinned Presumptuously or (WILLFULLY),There was no
sacrifice done for them,or prayer, they were cute off. Jew or gentile (stranger)The answer a willful SIN also in Hebrews :
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

these two category of sin is what is spoken of in Psalm 91 vs 12 "they shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone" I believe this is saying when we sin in Ignorance (not of our own intentions, example your watching TV and a beautiful girl in a swim suit comes on a commercial and projects a thought in the mind, it was not your intention to be looking a a girl in a swim suite ) his angels will be sure to keep us strong but when we sin willfully we must realize that recognize it and repent. ( in this case we willfully looking for the girl or guy in the swim suite to lust and desire over)

As church folks, there is a tendency to focus on the visual, obvious sins.

Girls who get pregnant out of wedlock, get it.
Women and men who do not attempt to hide their fornication catch it.

But lying deacons and preachers get off easy.

Where is that in the scripture that the sins you can see outweigh the sins done in the dark?

Yes according to the scriptures there is a sin that leads to death...this death is I believe as the second death, eternal separation from the Father (blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) (Read Matthew 12:31-32) reason being is because whomever has rejected the power of God unto Salvation, thus cannot be saved... also read… (Mark 3:28-29) Unpardonable Sin

Wilson,

The unforgivable transgression of the law is taking Yahuweh's name in vain(Exodus 20:7). He will not hold one guiltless who takes his name in vain. This teaching is exactly what Jesus is referring to.

The greatest sin I believe is never receiving Christ as savior in your life, I do believe this is what Matthew 12:31 is speaking about. if you read the proceeding verses Jesus is talking about in verse 30 "Anyone who is not with Me is against Me, and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters. (then in verse 31 he says) Because of this (Not being with Jesus) I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

See it is the Holy Spirit job to move us so that we can see that we need Jesus, do deny Jesus as savior is to blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Sin is sin all carry somthing that God allready knew thats why He sent Jesus to take it to the cross, all sins, sad as it is most don't know how many sins are record in the Bible, and there are more than 10, and they are all sin, some just carry a pay me now and some pay me later, and we( people) have some that we think are not as bad as other, that why God has to be the judge, because we can't see the hearts of men and as allways we getting it wrong..

we get trapped and fall into all types of sin because we continue to conform to the things in this world, don't want to sin, then don't conform to the things of this world. Jesus said "my ways are not your ways" He was the only one without sin. Only receiving Christ as the first step to being justified and then seeking God with all our heart, mind, body to get the ways of the world out of us. Jesus is truly the answer

Sin is sin. all it take is one (so this tells me no sin is greater than the other) Romans 6:23 says this "for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Notice that is reads "sin" NOT sins.

As Christians, we have done this when we say one sin is greater than other, Example: In the 1980s, the AIDS epidemic hit the gay community. Otherwise healthy men were dying and nobody knew why. The only link seemed to be their sexuality. The church had opportunity to speak grace and instead spewed venom. Rather than showing compassion, we self-righteously proclaimed Gods judgment. The message came through loud and clear.

It was the wrong message. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German pastor said this. "Nothing that we despise in the other man is entirely absent from ourselves. We must learn to regard people less in the light of what they do or don't do, and more in light of what they suffer."

Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.

As Christians we have failed to speak up and passionately represent the true heart of Christ's message in our society. We must be deliberate, introspective, and committed to taking personal ownership in redefining the perception. Our actions, responses, and relationships must consitently be filled with compassion, honor, and love.

Romans 5:16-17 "...but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification. .....receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

Christians need to be smart wise, and educated. We should not be treating people differently based on their sins. Scripture is clear that no sin is greater than another. Grace is big enough for homosexuality, divorce, fornication, murder, and all other lusts....it just takes time. Redemption and sanctification don't take place overnight.

some say the sin of unbelief is worse than any other sin.... why do you think this is so?

Reply to This

without belief in Christ Jesus, how is one to be forgiven, yes this is the sin that the Holy Spirit comes and calls us to see, that without Jesus no man can be saved. I can not say this is any worse than any other sin , for the bible says that the wages of sin is death,

Jesus can not be overlooked, we can not save ourselves, if we seek forgiveness yet do not accept Christ, how then?
