While I was yet confused and lost,
Jesus shedded his blood after counting the cost.
Before he gave his life for you and I,
It was in the garden where his flesh did cry.
"Father, if Thy wilt let this cup pass from me,"
But his spirit stood up just to set man free.
"Nonetheless not my will, but Thy will be done,"
Was the cry by which that fleshly battle was won.
So that we could be redeemed and our souls could be saved,
