Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute
www.equip.org
The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

Jeopardy will have a new theme song by the time he answers!!
And that theme song will play on and on and on.......LOL
We know that the word trinity is an english word. We also know that the bible was written in hebrew, aramic, latin, and greek. When the scrolls were translated many words were subsitituted, to find an english fit. Yet to our question , we can find the Trinity in Matthew 28:19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the FATHER,and of the Son[Jesus] and of the Holy Ghost. The Trinity is Not Three God's, the Trinity is One God in three attributes. Every attribute is distinct in power and purpose. Father God is the creator of that is,was, or shall ever be. Jesus the christ shed blood paid the sin penality of whom so ever will. and only through accepting . Him as lord and saviour can you attain eternal salvation. the Holy Ghost is our guide, comforter, sage. ans intercessor,of God's word, will, and way.
Brother the Bible was only written in Hebrew, Aramic (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament). Any Latin is a translation of the others.
Bro Valentine and others: Regarding Matt. 28:19 - 23 (& 1 John 5:7)

Until you realize that the Roman Catholic Church, who took possession of and translated and EDITED in the first and second centuries, the Biblical texts to agree with their theology, you will continue to be "Roman Catholic" in your theology, after all as PROTESTANTS, you are simply rebellious Roman Catholics. The Pope even refers to you as such. (You mimic the Roman Catholic faith, much more than you resemble the "Faith" which our Messiah lived out and taught His disciples to teach the world. You keep her SUNDAY and her Catholic holidays of Christmas, Easter etc.) Why hasn't that dawned upon you yet? In the Great Commissionour Messiah said to his JEWISH disciples for them to teach (the gentiles) WHATSOVER HE COMMANDED THEM AS (Jews).

There is ONE faith, not different commandments, doctrines for the Jews and different ones for the Gentiles! You must be GRAFTED INTO ISRAEL..... Jeremiah 31;33 & Hebrews 8.

If you are outside of the faith of the House of Judah and Israel - which was completed, NOT CHANGED, by the coming of Messiah, Israel being the ONLY parties of the New Covenant (not the Christians) you are not in the NEW COVENANT!

If you possess a faith, and teach and observe commandments different from the one Messiah presented to the world, your faith is illegitimate and you need to repent and be baptized and turn to the faith of Messiah and His Apostles--without which there is no salvation!

But regarding Matt. 28:19 - 23 the Roman Catholics added the "trinitarian formula" early in the 2nd century.
The following article is one of several which I have to prove my point:

A Collection of Evidence Against the Traditional Wording of Matthew 28:19
http://www.onenesspentecostal.com/matt2819-willis.htm

In short:
Early quotes from Matt. 28:19 - 23, say that Messiah stated that the disciples were to baptise in HIS NAME. That is what was done in ALL of the recorded baptisms in the NT!

There is not ONE example of the trinitarian formula used in Baptism anywhere in the Bible. Either the Disciples were disobedient or there is a problem with the Biblical text. With a little research, you will see that the Biblical text has indeed been altered, here and in 1 John 5:7. Then hopefully you will come out of Babylon and seek HIS truths in the Biblical Faiths, not the man made faiths rooted in the Roman Catholic church and her Protestant daughters.....

For those who believe that the "Holy Spirit": is a person I have these questions:

1) Why is the "Holy Spirit" given a "feminine pronoun" in the "Old Testament" Tanakh, if the Holy Spirit is a "male" in gender?

2) Why doesn't the "Holy Spirit" have a throne in Heaven? Why do just the Lamb and the Father? Does the "Holy Spirit" never sit down?

3) Who was our Messiah's Father? In Luke 1:35 the angel Gabriel announces to Mary, “The 'Holy Spirit' will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

If Messiah's conception came through the "Holy Spirit", why does He NEVER refer to the Holy Spirit as "Father"?

4) Messiah NEVER speaks to the "Holy Spirit" throughout His whole ministry of 3 1/2 years. To not speak to one's father for 3 1/2 years would be dishonoring to them would it not. So my question is, did our Messiah dishonor His Father the "Holy Spirit" by not speaking to Him for those 3 1/2 years?

I have more questions, but will wait for someone to defend the "personhood" of the Holy Spirit by answering these questions first.

Rightfully so responders have stated that the "Trinity" is not taught anywhere in the Bible. It is a creation of the Roman Catholic church, a doctrine of man, accepted by her Protestant daughters the Baptist, Methodist, Church of God in Christ etc. There are two Divine entities in Heaven the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is the power that proceeds from them both.
Has anyone every heard of the childen's movie titled THE NEVER ENDING STORY"?

4imilar to that title the age old debate of the biblical validity of the Trinity with never end.

It seems when this topic pops up the discussion goes on ad nauseum and then ceases like any other terrific storm. But if you wait, hop on some other discussions that pop up, you can bet your bottom dollar that this Hot Topic will resurface with the same scriptures to either refute or disprove the Trinity.

...The Trinity....the never ending discussion.
God in three persons, blessed trinity," is not scriptural.

But there is ONE GOD, ONE PERSON with three major titles:

-FATHER of all, who is over all

-SON, through all

-HOLY Spirit, in all.

YAHSHUA THE MESSIAH (JESUS) IS THE ONE TRUE GOD, YAHWEH ALMIGHTY, THE LORD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, THE HEAVENLY FATHER!

There is ONE GOD, ONE PERSON, and there is also ONE BAPTISM. Not two but ONE BAPTISM.

“One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all”.

Ephesians 4:5-6

Now let us read Matthew 28:19:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.

What is the NAME (singular) of the FATHER and the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT?

Brother, let me remind you of something.

Indeed, Jesus told His disciples:

"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come”.

John 16:12-13

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth…”

Brother the Holy Spirit has revealed to the Apostles the NAME (singular) of the FATHER and the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT.

Let us see:

“Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”.

Acts 2:38

The NAME (singular) of the FATHER and the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT is JESUS CHRIST.

Truly speaking, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other NAME under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Acts 4:12

That NAME (singular) under heaven given to men by which we must be saved is JESUS CHRIST.

Truly speaking, “All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his NAME."
Acts 10:43

That NAME (singular) given to men through which they receive forgiveness of sins is JESUS CHRIST.
Truly speaking, Jesus said to the Father: "I have revealed your NAME to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
John 17:6

That NAME (singular) of the Father is JESUS CHRIST.

This is the reason why brother Paul said:

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”.

Colossians 3:17

WHATEVER YOU DO, WETHER IN WORD OR DEED, DO IT IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.

See, here, Lord Jesus is THE NAME, whereas Father is simply a Title.

Isn’t water baptism a deed?

If it is a deed, then the Bible says “WHATEVER YOU DO, WETHER IN WORD OR DEED, DO IT IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS”.

Why do you want to do everything in the Name of Jesus Christ but exclude water baptism?

Why do you make such a restriction?

It is simply because you have not yet received the revelation about the NAME (singular) of the FATHER and the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT (Matthew 28:19).

May the Holy Spirit enlighten you!

WHAT IS THE ONE BAPTISM THAT IS REQUIRED OF BY OUR LORD JESUS?

There is ONE GOD, ONE PERSON, and there is also ONE BAPTISM. Not two but ONE BAPTISM:

It is the water baptism practised by IMMERSION in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.

Indeed, the Bible says that we are “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone”.
Ephesians 2:20

If you are really built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone, then you must practise the water baptism as the Apostles of Jesus Christ did.

All the Apostles of Jesus Christ practised the same water baptism.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."(Revelation 3:22).

PLEASE, SHARE THIS WITH YOUR BROTHERS, YOUR SISTERS AND YOUR FRIENDS.
May the undeserved kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and all your family!

GOD BLESS YOU !

Bro. Germain
Our foundation is Jesus the Christ, and all else is built upon that. Yes even the apostles , errered in somethings. Remeber peter and paul argued over mark and barabus.Baptism is asked of all beievers[immersion] ,yet, baptism is not required for eternal salvation. Remember the thief upon the cross along side Jesus. The only baptism that is requierd is that of the Holy Ghost.. Jesus said the Father and I are one, and that I came to do my Fathers will. Jesus also said I [Jesus] go away so that the comfortor will come [.Holy Ghost.] to show further proof of the trinty. When Christ Jesus was in the Grave [the son} The father [Father God] Raised Jesus From the grave. note: keep in mind when Jesus comes at the sound of the trump. That same power [The Father] will raise us the believers also. My point is from Gen. -Rev. we have the Father , the Son, and the Holy ghost.
There is no trinity. The Holy Ghost is the Holy Angel Gabriel.
What scripture chapter and verse. Do you find that!
Scripture chapter verse. You have to go through different scriptures. Just as if you wanted to know something from somebody. You go to the person who said it, and then you go to others who witnessed it, and then you make a conclusion.
Here it is. You will think it is speculation.

Mark 12:36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Psalm 110:1-2The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

That david said by the holy ghost meaning he was told by the Holy ghost, we will go further Do you also see where it says The Lord (father) said to my Lord (Son). I know you see it.

Luke 1:18-19 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

The angel that stands in the presence of god, The Holy Ghost or spirit. Gabriel is the only angel that stands in the actual presence of God.

Luke 1:25-27 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
We all know who that is right? ok.

Matthew 1:18-21 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Now if you can't see it there then I am sorry.
