Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute

The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

BROTHER ANTHONY? I AM STILL WAITING FOR A REPLY? Anthony I see Your Saying What EW Said was Wrong about Acts 2:38. Can you Prove this In Scripture?? Or Are you Just Refuting the Fact That YOU CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS TO FIT YOUR DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY? MAtt 28:19 Says In THE NAME of Singular one Name.
And Since you Know the word so well Can You show me where in the new testament church was anyone ever Baptized by repeating the command Father,Son ,Holy Ghost?
I am waiting for a scriptural Answer for this Question. Thanks Love in Christ,Della Morton
Trevor Your Reply: Yes GOD is one GOD yet three manifestations, but the manifestations are in fact 3 separate persons with three separate wills. They, acting in perfect unity and love, walk according to one perfect will. Have you forgotten that JESUS prayed to the FATHER saying "never the less not My will, but Thy will be done"? Why is this ignored??

MY REPLY> Is If you claim that God is Three Separate Manifestations Then In The same sentence you mention THREE PERSONS IN THE GODHEAD THAT HAS THREE SEPARATE WILLS! SOUNDS LIKE THREE GODS TO ME! Can You Prove this in Scripture? Ok One More Question:
When Understanding Jesus praying to the father He Had A dual nature (My will )was His Human Will and HE UNLIKE ANYONE ELSE HAD A DIVINE WILL for proper understanding. WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT The Father and JESUS AS SEPARATE Persons in a trinity because if you do you Make God more than one Person That is saying there is more than one God! The Term Persons Can you show me where that is found in the Bible? thanks Love In Christ Della Morton
Hi Della

The most obvious scripture is the Comma Johanneum 1John 5:7 which has been quoted

However here a few more.

As soon as Jesus Christ was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and landing on him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.' Matt 3:16-17

"The angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.'" [Luke 1:35

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God." Acts 7:55

And the most obvious.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

I proved it in scripture immediately after I made the statement Della. You quoted me and ignored me all at once. I said:

Have you forgotten that JESUS prayed to the FATHER saying "never the less not My will, but Thy will be done"?

How did you miss that statement? If I'm not mistaken, thats scripture from the Gospels, referring to the Garden of Gethsemane.
Wow Bro. Watson....

Tracy B. YOU FUNNY!!

Outside of I believe 3 times in Acts where it said "they where baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus" where else in scripture does it COMMAND that this is the only way? A built doctorine off 3-4 verses?
Rev. Culberson... I'm only providing pictures for what the average Joe Schmo would see when they would take a sneak peek at our convos. It really is like tug of war... saying the same thing, using the same rope... but disagreeing on how the rope is manifested.

So, while we continue such disagreements in an attempt to prove the point of either side, the music begins to play, the machine spins and we find ourselves on a merry go round conversation. Some jump off, others jump on and some never leave.

Can't you hear the music?
Don't you see the side show of the Saints?

I mean how in the world are we evangelizing? What are people NOT saved if they aren't baptized the way we say they should be baptized? Then we get into the topic of does water baptism save you?

Meanwhile.. the music is still playing and the world watches the sideshow of the Saints.

You preaching to the choir! LOL! It took me a while but i learned a while back to jump off the merry go round, and let go of the rope. I'm now trying to do as you are with the pics and that's show some people what it looks like from the sidelines.
Tracy said: Then we get into the topic of does water baptism save you?

John 3:5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 10: 47.
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48. And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
The Doctrine of the Trinity was built on One Scripture in Matthew. LOL Was there a point here? To deny the name of Jesus is to merely going swimming in water.

There are many, many scriptures to reference where this doctrine came from. If you read through the post you will find them.
HELP SOMEBODY I'M GETTING SUCKED IN PULL ME OUT!!!!

The " Doctorine of the Trinity" was not built on one scripture it is shown in the OT, the Gospels as well as throughout the entire new testament. But I wa talking about Baptisim, and not about this trinity vs. oneness debate. But as far as read the posts no ma'am TOO LONG AND TOO MANY.

Bro. Watson;

"few Trinitarian believers have the guts to come in here and join the dialogue."

I dont think its that, I'm not sure how long you've been a member as I have just recently began reading post from you, but many before you and if you stick around long enough many after you will start this topic up all over again and you will then sit back and just watch and see this "Merry go round" all over again and say to yourself I know where this is going and I dont have the energy to go again.

Be Blessed
