Is The Trinity Biblical?
From the Christian Research Institute

The Trinity is a basic doctrine of orthodox Christianity. Yet the word "Trinity" is not found anywhere in the Bible. Is the doctrine of the Trinity really biblical?
The doctrine of the Trinity says that there is one All Mighty One (God) who exists eternally as three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can assure you that the elements of this doctrine are all taken directly from the Bible.
The first plank of the Trinitarian platform is that there is only one All Mighty One (God). The Bible could not be more explicit on this point, which it states explicitly about two dozen times. In Isaiah 44:8 Yahweh (The LORD) says that even He does not know of any other (mighty ones)gods!
Yahshua (Jesus) often spoke of the All Mighty One (God) as His Father, and the apostles frequently spoke of "the Almighty One (God) the Father." But the New Testament also insists that Yahshua (Jesus) is The Almighty One (God). For example, Thomas acknowledged Yahshua (Jesus) as, "My Lord(master) and my Almighty One (God)" (John 20:28), and both Peter and Paul spoke of Yahshua (Jesus) as "our All Mighty One (God) and Savior" (2 Pet. 1:1; Tit. 2:13). Yet the New Testament also makes the distinction between the Father and the Son as two very different persons. In fact they tell us that they love one another, speak to each other, and seek to glorify each other (e.g., John 17: 1-26).
The Old Testament refers often to the Holy Spirit as The Almighty One (God) at work in the world, without distinction from the Father. But Yahshua (Jesus) in John 14 to 16 explained that this Holy Spirit would be sent by the Father at the Messiah’s (Christ's) request. The Holy Spirit would teach and guide the disciples, not speaking on His own initiative, but speaking on the Messiah’s 9Christ's) behalf and glorifying The messiah (Christ). Thus, the Holy Spirit is revealed by The Messiah (Christ) to be a third person distinct from the Father and distinct from the Son.
In short, the doctrine of the Trinity is completely and totally biblical, and it is essential that all the Followers of the Messiah Yahshua (Christians) give assent to this doctrine.

Oh I know you didn't mean to imply that. Yes, it often sounds aggressive in a negative way. Its aggressive, but not negative at all. Our very Kingdom culture is to show love and peace towards our neighbors, and aggression against the enemy. I once watched a special on the Hebrews origin. They were truly shepherds; they were also known as a warrior tribe from early days of Mesopotamia. This is shown in Abraham's aggressive attack with few men to save Lot in his old age.

We are to put on the whole armor of GOD. I was considering this while I wrote my statement. With that said, what happened to the sword of the Spirit? Most people put up their shields so much that they never wield their swords at all! There are weapons utilized and mentioned in the Bible concerning the Saints:

Battle Axe: Jeremiah 51:20 states that GOD uses Israel as His battle ax to break up the nations. It is interesting to note that we as Christians are "grafted in", and therefore we are the battle axe within His hand as well.

Sword: Psalms 149:6, Hebrews 4:13, and Ephesians 6:17. One good sword that can be seen on OT that stands out is the Sword of Goliath (more on that revelation another time).

Sling and Stone: 1st Samuel 17:40 As we know good and well Christ is that Stone that we are to sling at people.

Bow & Arrow: 2nd Samuel 1:18, 2nd Kings 13:17 It was the dying Prophet that said the words "the Arrow of the LORD's deliverance", using this prophetically and figuratively.

We must understand that there is a difference between armor and weapons. We have armor to stand up against attack, but we are armed by GOD to also fight the good fight of faith. The average infantry soldier was armed with sword and shield. Specialists however were armed differently.

Please understand that Apostolic ministry by its very nation encounters warfare far more often than most others, even more than the Prophetic. Its the Apostolic that mounts attacks on enemy territories and takes hold on the land. The very office of "Apostle" means more than "Sent One". In today's terms, he/she is an Ambassador/Envoy that is sent forth with the very political/militaristic authority of the Emperor that sent them, making the Emperor "King of kings". Apostles weren't Ambassadors that went out and talked peace and negotiations with nations to make covenants and treaties. They went out and took land, making it apart of their kingdom. They built embassies and communities in that region representing the Kingdom of their homeland. Its interesting to note that this territory planted by an Apostle and the people living there was called an "Ekklesia".

This is just touching on the subject! we see Church planting and evangelizing as something peaceful and delicate: the Bible and the LORD of Hosts sees this as apart of the military strategy. This is not chess like most people think. There is a Chinese game called "GO".The object of the game is to control a larger portion of the board than the opponent. A stone or a group of stones is captured and removed if it has no empty adjacent intersections, the result of being completely surrounded by stones of the opposing color.

Placing stones close together helps them support each other and avoid capture. On the other hand, placing stones far apart creates influence across more of the board. Part of the strategic difficulty of the game stems from finding a balance between such conflicting interests. Players strive to serve both defensive and offensive purposes and choose between tactical urgency and strategic plans. Sounds like Apostolic/Evangelistic strategies to me!
2 Thessalonians 2
Dear sister Della,

You will not be able to sway these as they have been sent a strong delusion by God and refuse to hear the truth. You must let them believe in their 3 God Doctrine and pray only that they can see the truth before it is too late.

Titus 3:10-11

10. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

My dear sister, you should move on and only hope that those seeking the truth will read through this discussion and accept that there is only one God.

2 Thessalonians 2 (The whole chapter)

1. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6. And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12. That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14. Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17. Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Dear Truth Network

It is not us that is deceived. We do not believe in 3 gods, but in one true God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I don't understand why the oneness people continuously say that we believe in 3 gods, it is obviously what has been drilled into you guys from the misuse of the sciptures cited.
Do you know how often they keep saying that about us??!?!? LOL!
Amen TRUTH NETWORK, I will be Praying for them,as I already have been.I do agree It is time for me to move on. God bless you and thank you for allowing me to share my faith in the word of God. LOVE IN CHRIST DELLA MORTON
2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

2 Timothy 4:13 "The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments."

I don't mind the prayers. We all need them! I do however suggest that in between prayer time, how about studying the Bible and Church history. Don't come against a subject without being fully equipped. It seems that Oneness doctrine Leaders hardly ever encourage you to study Church History.
Perhaps this passage will aide in helping you to understanding the 3 operations or administrations, not personalities of God. Our Lord is not 3 individually, self willed person(s) but instead, has 3 operations or administrations.

1 Corinthians 12:5 - 6 & 12 - 13

5. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Let me paste this so we can understand the Father's will and the Son's and the conflict between them in the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:42), Jesus prayed to the Father saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." See also, "And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, 'O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt'" (Matt. 26:39).

Notice that Jesus says that he has a will and that the Father has a will. That is two wills: one of the Son and the other of the Father. Furthermore, notice that the wills were in opposition. Jesus did not want to have to go to the cross and endure the suffering, but he submitted not to his own will, but the will of the Father. If this is so, then how can Jesus, who is the Father in flesh (and therefore, they are one person) have two separate and opposing wills on the same subject at the same time?

Thats deep.......3 yet one, yet separate in itself!

I have looked at people try to compare GOD to water, to the egg, and even to time, but it is all modalism. The Oneness doctrine says that GOD was Father in creation, Son in redemption, and HOLY GHOST in indwelling. Since when did the Son stop being the Son? Della and another once said that HE will shed His Sonship! When did the FATHER stop being the FATHER? On the cross? No where in the Bible did it say that the FATHER died for us!
No they do not! The relationship between Father Son and Holy Ghost is the perfect demonstration of love. How can JESUS show me how to love another if HE says that HE loves the Father but HE is the Father???
Ok Here Is Food For Thought! An article About Church History I thought was well worth sharing!
After This I am Going to Pray . God Bless You all! Good Night!!

As someone once said earlier - a little church history is in order.

First, when the western church became separated from its Hebrew roots, we lost a lot of things in our history and theology.

Second, thinking that Roman, Greek, and non-Christian Jewish writers/historians could capture the essence and spirit of the Messianic movement is going out on a limb. Most of these folks were either cut off from those roots and/or had no true connection to them in the first place.

Third, The idea that the trinity doctrine originated with the pagans might well be true! However, there is another logical explanation. It is quite likely that the triune God concept came down to all peoples through the line of Noah, when everyone knew the God of the flood. This would explain why almost every religion share many of the same stories/teachings.

The next installment is that while the Zohar was complied during the 3ed-4th centuries CE as a written document (dates also disputed), there are two references to the God of Israel consisting of three heads in one God. See: Zohar, Vol. III pg, 288 and Vol 11, pg 43, where The Ancient One is revealed in three heads "which are united in one" ... "described as being three" ... "But how can three names be one? ,,, (This) can only be known by revelation of the Holy Spirit". Thus we have a triune God concept that predates the advent of Christ and is also divorced from Rome, Greece, Egyptian, and possibility Babylonian influence. The problem? Lack of a reliable history.

There two areas that also cast some doubt on this approach. (1) The actual date of the original oral teaching that the transcription of the Zohar was made from cannot be established with any accuracy, except that it “most likely” predates the first century. (2) The history of the Zohar its self, is not very clear.

The other major aspects that play on this subject are (1) there is no such thing as a “Godhead”, that is an English translator’s created terms to include three different words used to describe three different aspects of God’s deity in Greek. The problem is that the English dictionary definition does a very poor job of describing the original Greek terms, (2) there are no gods in the Godhead, past, present or future, and (3) the classic Hebrew position has always been that God is an absolute unity, not an absolute singularity, as presented by most Oneness adherents. Not even Rashi would change his interpretation of the Shema (De 6:4), that God is an absolute unity. Yet, it was Rashi who helped to start the doctrine of “Christians (Catholics as Trinitarians) believe in three gods, i.e. Christians were committing idolatry by worshiping three gods. This teaching was used to help the Spanish (and later all European) Jews to resist the forced conversion to Christianity during the 11th to 14th centuries. This doctrine was even used to support and condone Jews killing their entire families and then committing suicide in order to preclude a “force conversion” by either torture or any other means.

The conclusion: The real issue between the Trinitarian and Oneness camps really isn’t over how many gods there are in the Godhead, but in a dispute over the baptismal ritual. (name verses titles). The history of the Oneness movement clearly shows that there was no division over the question of “how many gods” there were, but how people were to be baptized. The one god verses three gods became an issue during the late 40”s and 50’s, as the initial Oneness organizations took on a harder stand against the Assemblies of God for kicking them out of their fellowship, and the Assemblies of God becoming more desperate to justify their actions. This is a continuing “right/wrong” game that has taken its toll on the family of God.

As to all of the old and new Covenant references regarding the nature, elements and composition of God, they must be understood in the context of the world view of the original authors - not from an English language, western world view. Further, every verse that address this issue must be integrated into any true doctrine on the nature of God's existence. Any willful omission of addressing any such verse (any scripture, passage) is an overt attempt to foster a false doctrine. Where apparently "conflicting scripture" exists (the existence of a paradox), it must be noted as such and taken into account in the doctrinal development process.

It is time for being willing to drop the doctrines of men and to seek to find and understand the doctrines of the word of truth.!
I like this comment that you copied. The interesting thing is that it doesn't champion the Oneness cause at all.
