Dr. Alford is a life-long Floridian, born in Palm Beach County, where she attended and graduated from the pulic school system. She later attended Broward Community College where she earned a degree in Sociology. She continued her education at Revelation Bible College earning a BA Degree in Religious Studies. Today she holds a Master's Degree and a Doctorate Degree in Christian Education from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Dr. Alford was reared in a Christian home and developed rather early a strong sense of the importance of family, education, faith and community. Marilyn has been a cornerstone in her community and a pillar of faith in her church, The Church of God. An Ordained Licensed Minister who has been preaching and defending the gospel since the age of 20, she's held many positions from Drummer to Administrative Assistant. This medium has enabled her to fulfill her heart's desire - that is, to minister to both young and old, male and female.

Marilyn's passion in this regard has been souls. She's worked endlessly preaching and praying souls through. Having worked in various capacities she’s also directed many youth and adult programs. She's worked on Local and District levels as District Youth and Christian Education Director as well as the Assistant to the District Overseer. She founded “Preparing Youth for Ministry," a program geared towards preparing young people of all ages for ministry. She believes God desires to use young people at an early age, just as He did David and Josiah. She also co-founded the Inner City Youth Choir of Greater Delray Beach. Marilyn now answers the call of ministry to hurting women within the body of Christ. Her testimony of triumph over an oppressing enemy has helped many women find their strength and victory in the Lord. Her life’s challenges have all worked out for her good!

Sister Marilyn, is currently a member of the Delray Beach Clergy Association, the Christian Clergy Alliance and the MAD DADS Street Patrol Unit of Greater Delray Beach.

Marilyn lives to “know HIM, and the power of HIS resurrection, and the fellowship of HIS sufferings...!” Philippians 3:10. Her hearts desire is to be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, fitting for the Master's use, and prepared for every good work. And as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

What Does God Sound Like?

Posted on March 30, 2009 at 9:11am 0 Comments

I was asked this question and I want to try to answer it.

God's voice may sound different to each of us but the message is the same. His voice sounds the same as it did when He called you to salvation. It's a still, small voice that's speaks with clarity and authority. He ONLY speaks HIS word to us! For instance, He'll say things like take heed, occupy, witness, work, rebuke, pray, seek, fast, draw nigh, utter not a word, walk away, don't give room, I love you, give it to me, show… Continue

MEDITATIONS

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11, KJV Do you ever wonder what plans God have for you? Do you ever wonder when those plans will be executed? What expected end is He referring to?

Well, I too have wondered the same things. Will I like the plans? Will I live to see those plans implemented? I expect a lot of things; for example, I expect to live to see another day. Is that… Continue

Hey, this is a lot of reading but it is so GOOD. Read a little today and little tomorrow but PLEASE read it all. Especially vs. 11

The Message Bible Romans 13:

1 Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. 2 If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. 3 Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you’re trying… Continue

"Yes to the No"

Posted on December 30, 2008 at 2:01pm 0 Comments

So often it seems that life is only made up of things to hurt us. Life has many disappointments for everybody especially the righteous. (Psalms 34:19) All of us have or will be affected by death, illnesses, betrayals, tragedies, and feelings of worthlessness and despair. Sometimes life can seem so very hard and unfair, and so many times we tend to wallow in pools of self-pity.

I believe that our time here on earth gives us the opportunity to grow spiritually. We can experience great… Continue

Know Your Friends

Posted on December 30, 2008 at 2:00pm 0 Comments

The Easter Season reminds us of many things, the death burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One thing we should be reminded of as well is that it was not Jesus' enemy who betrayed him but according to Matt. 26:50, Jesus called Judas, Friend. There are those who we run with, fight with, sleep with, eat with and just about do any thing with but at the end of the day, will they still be standing with you? There is only one sure person who will weather the storms with you;… Continue
