What Does God Sound Like?

I was asked this question and I want to try to answer it.

God's voice may sound different to each of us but the message is the same. His voice sounds the same as it did when He called you to salvation. It's a still, small voice that's speaks with clarity and authority. He ONLY speaks HIS word to us! For instance, He'll say things like take heed, occupy, witness, work, rebuke, pray, seek, fast, draw nigh, utter not a word, walk away, don't give room, I love you, give it to me, show… Continue

MEDITATIONS

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11, KJV Do you ever wonder what plans God have for you? Do you ever wonder when those plans will be executed? What expected end is He referring to?

Well, I too have wondered the same things. Will I like the plans? Will I live to see those plans implemented? I expect a lot of things; for example, I expect to live to see another day. Is that… Continue

JUST READ IT

Hey, this is a lot of reading but it is so GOOD. Read a little today and little tomorrow but PLEASE read it all. Especially vs. 11

The Message Bible Romans 13:

1 Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. 2 If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. 3 Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you’re trying… Continue

"Yes to the No"

So often it seems that life is only made up of things to hurt us. Life has many disappointments for everybody especially the righteous. (Psalms 34:19) All of us have or will be affected by death, illnesses, betrayals, tragedies, and feelings of worthlessness and despair. Sometimes life can seem so very hard and unfair, and so many times we tend to wallow in pools of self-pity.

I believe that our time here on earth gives us the opportunity to grow spiritually. We can experience great… Continue

Know Your Friends

The Easter Season reminds us of many things, the death burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One thing we should be reminded of as well is that it was not Jesus' enemy who betrayed him but according to Matt. 26:50, Jesus called Judas, Friend. There are those who we run with, fight with, sleep with, eat with and just about do any thing with but at the end of the day, will they still be standing with you? There is only one sure person who will weather the storms with you;… Continue

A Deliberate Choice

I made a deliberate choice to trust God inspite of my circumstances. Sometimes it's hard. There are not too many feel-good moments but ultimately I know that God is in control. Even now I can look back and see where the Lord has brought me from. That alone lends hope for an even brighter tomorrow.

Once I chose to trust, I felt God wanting more from me. Confused, I prayed and sought His heart. Then I got it! God didn't just want me to only trust Him. He wanted me to go a step beyond… Continue

Good or God

Have you ever played in a sport against a team that you know you couldn't beat? It wasn't that they were much better than your team but you really didn't stand a chance because your own team mates didn't measure up. If the whole team had your ability then you would win hands down but because you are the only you on the team, there was just no chance to win.

Well, life is the same way. What do you do when you're in a fight that you really have no control of? What do you do when you're… Continue

Are You the Chosen One?

Matthew 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."

This scripture is one of the most misquoted scriptures in the bible. If kept within the context in which it was written, many will understand that it's talking about a heavenly calling not an earthly call to ministry. Okay, ok what am I saying?

Jesus is giving a parable of a wedding banquet. He explains how many people are invited to the celebration but how those who will attend get chosen, is a process by… Continue

What is your gift doing for you?

Proverbs 18:16

"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men".

Listen carefully, the bible is still right and right all by itself.

Webster's dictionary says that a Gift is a present, something given to someone by another; something given voluntarily without payment in return.

The gift, whether given or received will make room for you and bring you before great men. Let's look at it in the natural, first.

If I go… Continue
