It's Time Out for the Mind Games!

It's Time Out for the Mind Games! In the Hebrew World of years gone by the word mind was often expressed as heart. Proverbs 4 verse 23 reads as follows Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. The word heart here meant mind. This scripture admonishes us to keep our minds with all diligence. This would suggest that keeping one's mind is work! The mind is the seat of one's intellect, so we should be on guard for the protection of our minds. This urgent plea in the… Continue

GENESIS 3:16 CLARIFICATION

Sister Dawn Davidson said:

“…That a husband shall “rule over” a female must be defined within the right context of the garden story…”

However, Brother Paul said: “A woman should learn in quietness and full SUBMISSION. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing -… Continue

The Making Of A Baby and YHWH's Festivals

The Making Of A Baby and YHWH's Festivals

Biblical Holy Days: The Making of a Baby

By J. R. Church

Zola Levitt discovered an amazing correlation between Biblical Holy Days and the gestation of a human baby, from conception to birth. While preparing for writing a book for new parents, Zola contacted a gynecologist for some help in understanding gestation.

During that session, the gynecologist showed him a series of pictures, pointed to the first one (an…

Merchandising The Gospel

I marvel that more people are not totally embarrassed by the way the world of Christendom exacts money from the poor and peddles the Word of God like so much merchandise for sordid gain. It is an international disgrace. I will not mince words, so get ready for some startling revelations.

WHAT WE WILL LEARN

What is the real message of Malachi’s prophecy for believers today?

Did Paul finance his international ministry through… Continue

Is it me or are they just...?

I had a very fruitful meeting with some of my key leaders tonight. There were a number of issues we discussed over a period of two hours. A little longer than I wanted it to last, but its all good. I'm learning a lot about the folks around me. Every now and then, the teacher needs to listen to those he or she is teaching in order to learn how to effectively teach them. Connections are made as we listen, learn, and love enough to keep listening.

One issue that was brought up was my… Continue

WHAT IS IN STORE FOR THOSE WHO ARE PROVOKING THE FLAME?

"If such sufferings alight upon the innocent One, the very Lamb of God, what must be in store for those who are provoking the flames?" - Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary

"The consideration of the bitter sufferings of our Lord Jesus should engage us to stand in awe of the justice of God, and to tremble before Him. The best saints, compared with Christ, are dry trees; if He suffer, why may not they expect to suffer? And what then shall the damnation of sinners be?" - Matthew… Continue

GET READY FOR THE RAIN

IN THE MIDST OF THE ECONOMIC SHAKING THAT THIS WORLD IS IN, GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT HE IS GOD, AND HE WILL TAKE CARE OF US! SO MANY CHRISTIANS HAVE EVEN TAKEN ON THE WORRIED MENTALITY OF THE WORLD, BUT GOD'S WORD IS TRUE AND WE WILL COME OUT VICTORIOUS! THE KEY TO THIS VICTORY IS STAYING FAITHFUL TO GOD. WE MUST NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO CONFORM TO THE FRETFUL SPIRIT OF THIS WORLD. THE FATHER HAS NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER, LOVE AND A SOUND MIND! LET US STAND FAST AND… Continue

SHE'S WEARING MY SKIRT!!!!

SHE’S WEARING MY SKIRT!

Have you ever gone shopping and purchased a beautiful skirt (women) or handsome suit (men) only to arrive at an event or church and someone else is wearing the same outfit?! One time, I bought a really “diva-licious” skirt. Man it looked great. I attended an event and what did I see, someone else wearing “MY” skirt! “What is this? Darn, I should have worn something else.” When I thought about it, I smiled because we both looked good in the skirt.… Continue

NO JUDAS, NO RESURRECTION!

Bless the name of Jesus for His Resurrection!

We know and we are thankful that Jesus is ALIVE!! HALLELUJAH! The grave could not hold Him. "O, death, where is your sting?" (You don't have one... praise the Lord!) Jesus got up on that cross and took upon Himself the sins of the world, so that we (you and me) could live. HE got up on that cross, because He said Himself, no man can take My life, unless I lay it down. And that's what He did. He died before they took His life. (He died on… Continue

The Folded Napkin--Balderdash!

By Daniel Lancaster | Comments (6) April 12, 2009

At First Fruits of Zion, we have received a rash of email inquiries about the alleged, Jewish custom of folding a napkin in a particular way in order to indicate an intention to return to an unfinished meal. An email circulating on the internet is the source of the queries. The following is an excerpt:

"Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin,… Continue

Excerpt from my new book, Know Your Worth! Chapter: The Counterfeit - The Roadblock to your Destiny!

Ladies, I am going to start this chapter out with an admission - I am a shopaholic! Shoe shopping is one of my favorite pastimes. Subsequently, during one of my shopping excursions, I received the meat of this chapter. In one of my favorite department stores, I found a simply gorgeous "name brand" pair of brown ankle boots, pointed- toed, with a skinny 3-inch heel, which incidentally, were on sale. To my surprise, sitting on the same shelf, was… Continue

The Sabbath Even Resurrection: "The Resurrection of Jesus: A Jewish Perspective"

Dr. Pinchas Lapide is the author of "The Resurrection of Jesus: A Jewish Perspective" and he wrote the following (pp. 114-115):

Quote:

Matthew puts [the resurrection] at night, right after the end of the Sabbath, but Mark and Luke in the early Sunday morning.

The obscure formulation of Matthew, which is awkward in Greek (28:1) "now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week (or: of the Sabbath)," or according to the Elberfeld… Continue
